<br />
Quick - what's the World's Fastest Nissan? While visions of the GT-R are probably dancing around in your head, in reality, that title goes out to Project Zed, a Pro Class drag racer built using Nissan's 3.5-liter VQ six-cylinder engine borrowed from a 350Z. Not that the engine is stock, of course. In this case, Project Zed's tuned powerplant is reportedly sending nearly 1,900 horsepower to the rear wheels... yes, really.<br />
<br />
As you'd expect from nearly two thousand galloping ponies, acceleration will be epic. Builder and driver John Bradshaw estimates that his maniacal machine will hit 60 in just 1.2 seconds as its rockets its way past the 200 mile-per-hour mark in just over six seconds.<br />
<br />
Bradshaw plans to debut the car at the famous Santa Pod Raceway in England on September 10th, where it will go up against a slew of American V8-powered dragsters. Nissan is planning to show its support for the project by bringing along fresh copies of the latest 370Z and GT-R. Time for some head-to-head Nissan action? <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/27/enuff-znuff-pointy-teethd-european-nissan-350z-dragster-hits/">Hit the jump</a> for a video and the official press release.<br />

<div align="center"><em><strong><small>2009 Nissan 370Z - Click above for high-res gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />The first Datsun 240Z rolled into American showrooms in 1969. Four decades later, we've got our hands wrapped around the thick, leather, multi-function steering wheel of its direct descendant, the all-new 370Z. With a 332 hp V6 and a six-speed manual transmission directing power to the rear wheels, our outlook is decidedly positive as we head out on the street (our <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/17/first-drive-2009-nissan-370z/">First Drive</a> on the track was back in December). Is all of the hype surrounding this new coupe justified? How does it compare to the GT-R? Just how did the all-new Z-car fare after a week in our garage? Find out after the jump...<br /><br />

But revealing as those blueprints are, they still require some degree of imagination. Fortunately, the guys over at GlobalMotors.net have precluded the need for imagination by coloring inside the lines for us and providing a batch of renderings that give us a preview of what the 370Z Roadster will look like when it hits the roads later this year. Follow the link to check 'em out, with our thanks to Andrus for the tip.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.globalmotors.net/rendered-speculation-2010-nissan-370z-roadster/ ">GlobalMotors.net</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/22/coloring-inside-the-lines-nissan-370z-roadster/">Coloring inside the Lines: Nissan 370Z Roadster</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 22 Jan 2009 11:20:00 EST. <br />The new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/19/la-2008-nissan-debuts-all-new-370z/">2009 Nissan 370Z</a> touts improved power, efficiency, handling and updated sheet metal for under $30,000. That makes the 370Z a bit of a performance bargain, and when you consider improved fit and finish, lighter weight and impressive new technology upgrades, Z fans should be plenty happy. While it's nice to see high resolution pics of the new car, we like to see how it looks out on the road, as well. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/20/video-nissan-370z-doing-its-thang/">Follow the jump</a> to check out Nissan's rolling stock footage, which contains plenty of shots of the 370Z out on twisting paths. There are also several diagrams that spell out how upgrades like Nissan's variable valve and SynchroRev Match tech works.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/la-2008-2009-nissan-370z-live/low/">LA 2008: 2009 Nissan 370Z LIVE</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/la-2008-2009-nissan-370z-live/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/01_2009_370z_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/la-2008-2009-nissan-370z-live/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/02_2009_370z_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/la-2008-2009-nissan-370z-live/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/03_2009_370z_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/la-2008-2009-nissan-370z-live/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/04_2009_370z_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/la-2008-2009-nissan-370z-live/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/05_2009_370z_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-nissan-370z/low/">2010 Nissan 370Z</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-nissan-370z/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/01_2009_370z_press_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-nissan-370z/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/02_2009_370z_press_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-nissan-370z/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/03_2009_370z_press_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-nissan-370z/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/04_2009_370z_press_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-nissan-370z/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/05_2009_370z_press_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.road2road.com/index.php?showid=488">Road2Road</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/20/video-nissan-370z-doing-its-thang/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Nissan 370Z doing its thang</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/20/video-nissan-370z-doing-its-thang/">VIDEO: Nissan 370Z doing its thang</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 20 Nov 2008 17:42:00 EST. <p>Nissan dropped the final cover off its all-new 2009 370Z at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/LA-Auto-Show/">LA Auto Show</a> today. While we've been looking at pics of the two-place coupe since <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/29/officially-official-nissan-drops-370z-ahead-of-la-debut/">last month</a>, today Nissan gave us pricing (base MSRP of $29,930) and a slew of technical info at the roll-out (follow the jump for the details). Regardless of how you feel about the new styling, it will be hard to dismiss the significant improvements Nissan made to the interior of the new car. The materials, fit, and finish are all excellent... especially if you compare the new car to the old side-by-side. Addressing poundage (another significant complaint about the previous-gen 350Z), Nissan put the new car on a serious diet. Paying close attention to the little things, engineers dropped several hundred pounds off the curb weight compared to the outgoing 350Z. The svelte standard model with a 6-speed manual now tips the scales at just 3,232 pounds (the 2008 350Z Enthusiast Model was about 3,350 pounds). More power, a stronger chassis and a much improved interior. Enthusiasts will find a lot to like with the new model.</p>

The problem is described as an issue with an electrical component that could interfere with the sensor system, which could then prevent the side airbag from deploying in certain circumstances. We gather from the report on <a href="http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/recallsummary.cfm?rcl_campaign_id=08V521000&amp;prod_id=284635&amp;moduletype=VEHICLE&amp;make=NISSAN&amp;model=ALTIMA&amp;veh_model_year=2008&amp;searchtype=DrillDown">Recall.gov</a> that the sensor telling the car whether or not someone's riding shotgun could malfunction, and in the event of a crash the car could assume no one's sitting there at not deploy the passenger airbag. Most of the vehicles affected are 2007 or 2008 Nissan Altimas, tallying over 140,000 units of that model in all. Other models affected include '07 and '08 examples of the Infiniti EX35, G35 Sedan, G37 coupe and the Nissan 350Z, Rogue and Murano. The Japanese automaker claims that there have been no injuries as a result of the defect, but apparently it was deemed significant enough to pay for a recall and be safe today rather than sorry tomorrow. Owners of an affected Nissan vehicle can call 1-800-647-7261 and Infiniti owners can dial 1-800-662-6200 for more information, as dealers are able to test the system and replace the passenger-side seat cushion where the offending hardware is located.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081015/AUTO01/810150437/1148/rss25">Detroit News</a>, <a href="http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/recallsummary.cfm?rcl_campaign_id=08V521000&amp;prod_id=284635&amp;moduletype=VEHICLE&amp;make=NISSAN&amp;model=ALTIMA&amp;veh_model_year=2008&amp;searchtype=DrillDown">Recalls.gov</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/15/nissan-recalls-200-000-vehicles-over-passenger-air-bag-issue/">Nissan recalls 200,000 vehicles over passenger air bag issue</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 15 Oct 2008 19:02:00 EST. <p>Steve Millen is very appreciative of his racing successes as a factory driver for Nissan. Since retiring from competition, he hasn't let the automaker forget his gratitude. He does so through his aftermarket parts company and tuning shop, Stillen. Stillen's core market consists of the Nissan/Infiniti enthusiast, while Ford fans round a close second. For the past 12 years the Costa Mesa, CA facility has hosted an annual customer appreciation open house aimed at giving a little something back to those who keep things running. During the event, Nissan and Infiniti owners crowd the streets with their rides for a car show, the shop performs installations under the gaze of spectators and the dyno was available for those that wish to show off more than their vehicle's exterior. </p>
<p>This year's open house event even saw Nissan chipping in with some eye candy as well. A handful of knowledgeable and passionate employees were on hand to show off a pair of 2009 Nissan GT-Rs. One of the cars was the very same GT-R track tested by Mr. Millen for a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/20/porsche-911-turbo-chevrolet-corvette-z06-and-u-s-spec-nissan/"><em>Road &amp; Track</em> feature</a>. Also taking up space in the parking lot was a 2009 Infiniti FX and a 2009 Nissan Maxima, brought along in order to gauge reception from the crowd. The GT-Rs and Maxima were greatly poked and prodded upon, but the FX received little attention. The lack of interest in the FX did not necessarily speak ill of the redesign, but more so of the crowd's nature. A few trucks and SUVs were in attendance, but the majority of vehicles lining the street were of the 350Z, G35, Sentra and 240SX variety. Take a peak at the photo gallery to see a sampling of what was there.</p>

When Shiro Nakamura, the head designer at Nissan, revealed the barest hints of a car outline hidden behind a taut sheet of fabric, speculation began as to whether it represented the new Z. The arced flanges over the wheels, and the way they follow the wheels, have 370Z written all over them. However, it doesn't look as if it would fit <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/11/nissan-370z-details-appear-in-japanese-mag/">this rendering</a> exactly -- which is not a bad thing. All Nakamura would say is that we'll be seeing that wheel later this year, which, coincidentally, is when <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/07/nissan-370z-coming-to-los-angeles-auto-show/">the next Z</a> -- supposedly lighter and four inches shorter than the current car -- is slated to be unveiled.<br /><br />The other design teaser was a top-view sculpture of future Infiniti design elements. Who knows what or how much of the elements -- like the ducktail rear -- will make it to the final product, and who knows what those features will look like when in production. But it's a good looking piece of art in its own right. A brace of edges peeking out from a sea of crimson undulations -- if they had thrown wheels on it I would have driven it out of the hotel last night.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-and-infiniti-design-studies/low/">Nissan and Infiniti Design Studies</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-and-infiniti-design-studies/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/01_nis_360_des_study_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-and-infiniti-design-studies/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/02_nis_360_des_study_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-and-infiniti-design-studies/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/03_nis_360_des_study_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-and-infiniti-design-studies/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/04_nis_360_des_study_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-and-infiniti-design-studies/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/05_nis_360_des_study_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em>Our travel and lodging for this media event was provided by the manufacturer.</em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/29/nissan-360-the-design-future-and-the-new-380z/">Nissan 360: the design future, and the new 370Z?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 29 Apr 2008 20:03:00 EST. <p>Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has lived a charmed life, and he's giving back to the technical sciences by auctioning off his 2005 350Z special edition for charity. The Woz has a soft spot for the old Nissan Z cars, as he appeared in a commercial for the 280Z back in the day, and he has put together a remake of the old spot featuring his 350Z. The spoof commercial features a rotund Woz rolling across the back yard of his spacial digs in a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/04/12/segway-rolling-around-new-york-auto-show/">Segway</a>, while sound from the original commercial mentions that the Apple co-founder has two sports cars. The spoof video ends with the Weird Al version of "Ridin Dirty" playing while the Woz rides off into the sunset, Apple II license plate in full view. The sale price for the car is $100,000, but Woz is also accepting lower offers. <a href="http://www.hotswap.com/products/view/13e9b64bad82">Click here</a> to view the "remake" video, and follow the jump to check out the classic original. <br /></p>

<p>The iPhone has been perhaps the most hyped tech gadget of 2007, and a 17 year-old from New Jersey recently achieved fame by being the first to "unlock" the Apple device. <span class="fn">George Hotz, who many are referring to as the new "<a href="http://www.michaelrobertson.com/archive.php?minute_id=193">DVD John</a>," <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/07/28/telstra-iphone-sim-hack-video/">rigged</a> the $599 iPhone to operate on any network with any SIM card. For his epic hack, Hotz was given a <em>free</em> <a href="http://autos.aol.com/nissan-350z-2007:8962-overview">Nissan 350Z</a> <em>and</em> three 8 GB iPhones. All he had to do was hand over the compromised handset to Terry Daidone, owner of phone refurbisher and aftermarket parts maker <a href="http://www.certicellusa.com/">CertiCell</a>. Not bad for a kid that hasn't even started his first day of college. </span></p>
<p><span class="fn">A bad-ass 350Z is definitely a hell of a deal in a trade for a phone that costs a mere $499-$599. If Hotz doesn't get into <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/24/know-your-rights-is-it-illegal-to-unlock-my-iphone/">legal trouble</a> for his work, we think the brilliant teenager will likely get a killer job with a tech company well before he finishes college... right about the time he gets his third speeding ticket.</span></p>

A 3.7L turbocharged engine with at least 450 hp combined with a storied name that is finally making its way Stateside tends to excite us enthusiasts. When we made our way out to the 2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed, our own Frank Filipponio got some <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/26/nissan-gt-r-spied-at-goodwood/">terrific shots</a> of a hardly disguised GT-R making runs, and someone else got video of Nissan's road-rocket before it hit the track. <br /><br />Watching the video, it doesn't take a trained ear to hear serious horsepower. The cameraman got close enough to see the camo'd interior, and you can hear banter between the GT-R's driver and some people in the crowd. Check it out after the jump, it's a small GT-R fix before its October unveiling in Tokyo.<br /><br />[Source: World Car Fans]<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-supercars/low/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: The Supercars</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-supercars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodgtr---1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-supercars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodgtr---2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-supercars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodgtr---3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-supercars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodgtr---4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-supercars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodsupercars---1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/11/video-nissan-gt-r-at-goodwood/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Nissan GT-R at Goodwood</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/11/video-nissan-gt-r-at-goodwood/">VIDEO: Nissan GT-R at Goodwood</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 11 Jul 2007 20:54:00 EST. Autech, an arm of Nissan whose focus is on specialty vehicle conversions, has developed a system that is likely to be equipped on the next Z car - if it's deemed cost effective and can fit within the Z's pricing structure.<br /><br />If certain rumblings are to be believed, the next Z could debut as early as this year's Tokyo Motor Show in October, likely a refresh rather than an outright redesign. The coupe would be shown in concept form, with sales likely to begin in 2009, and that's when we'd expect this rumor to be confirmed.<br /><br />[Source: GT Channel]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/27/enter-the-rumormill-nissan-350z-retractable-hardtop/">Enter the rumormill: Nissan 350Z retractable hardtop</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 27 Jun 2007 13:39:00 EST. With the current "Zed" getting a bit long in the tooth after five years of diligent service, and the recent speculation surrounding the next iteration, the image above confirms <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/07/bring-back-the-240-nissan-developing-new-sports-coupe-redesign/"><em>Autocar</em>'s initial report</a> that the next Z will be keeping the general shape of the outgoing model, but with a more smoothed out appearance. Then again, this looks like a scan from one of the dozens of speculation-happy Japanese mags that come out every week, so we're not holding our breath.<br /><br />Naturally, with an appearance upgrade, changes under the hood are all but assured, and the smart money seems to be on the 3.7-liter VQ-series V6 that's currently found beneath the bonnet of the new G37/Skyline.<br /><br />The obvious question remains, when will Nissan unveil the next-gen Z? We would like to think it would be at this year's Tokyo Motor Show, but with the unveiling of the production GT-R and a rumored Silvia-replacement concept, we doubt they'd want to blow it all on one show. Frankfurt? Geneva? Detroit? We'll be waiting, as always.<br /><br />[Source: GT Channel]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/14/rendered-speculation-2009-nissan-370z/">Rendered speculation: 2009 Nissan 370Z</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 14 Jun 2007 10:33:00 EST. All of a sudden, pics of that smaller sports coupe have appeared today on the interweb. <em>Winding Road</em> has a few clear shots of an oddly shaped 350Z-based mule tagging along behind a Porsche Boxster. The car looks a lot like a 350Z, but is much shorter overall and has spy photographers speculating it will be the Z-car's baby bro'. <br /><br />Whether a new Z-car, new 240SX or whatever, it's just a mule for now. The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/01/09/nissan-urge-satisfies-at-detroit/">Urge Concept</a> is said to be the inspiration for the shape of the new small sports coupe, so hopefully future prototypes will be wearing a body we can recognize as influenced by that concept. There's no word on a powerplant for this new coupe, but we've already voted for a turbocharged version of the SE-R Spec-V QR25DE motor, just in case Nissan is listening. Hopefully it will be rear-drive, as well, but that goes without saying on a car like this. Click the Read link or the pic to view a few larger photos of this odd mule.<br /><br />[Source: Winding Road]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/12/spy-shots-nissans-affordable-rwd-sports-car/">Spy Shots: Nissan's affordable RWD sports car</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 12 Jun 2007 15:26:00 EST. The 350Z and Skyline/G35 have proven successful, but only to those able to afford the cost of entry, and although the upcoming GTR will redefine the iconic marque, its price tag will put it out of reach for the average enthusiast. Sure, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/30/first-drive-sentra-se-r-spec-v/">new SE-R</a> is something, but it's neither sporty, a coupe, or - more importantly - rear-wheel drive.<br /><br />According to <em>Autocar</em>, Nissan is actively developing a new sports coupe, drawing inspiration from the Urge concept that debuted at the North American International Auto Show in 2006. Since mechanical specifics are nil, the powertrain is open to speculation, and speculate we will. Ideally, we'd like to see a turbocharged version of the SE-R Spec-V's QR25DE sending power to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual (Nissan 250 anyone?).<br /><br />The article also sheds some light on the next generation of the 350Z, which will share its profile with the current car, but will receive a variety of design tweaks to smooth out some of the more awkward elements (read: door handles, tailgate, etc.). The possibility of swapping out the current VQ35 V6 for the new VQ37VHR should also be on the table, effectively changing the name from 350Z to 370Z. Viva la evolution!<br /><br />[Source: Autocar via <a href="http://www.motorauthority.com/cars/nissan/nissan-working-on-three-new-performance-models/">Motor Authority</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/07/bring-back-the-240-nissan-developing-new-sports-coupe-redesign/">Bring back the 240! Sponsored by the Nissan <a href="http://www.zclub.net/">Z club</a>, which was established three decades ago, the Zed Fest coincided with the 2007 Japanese Tuning show, the European Drifting Championship and a time attack series.<br /><br />The vehicles present spanned the breadth of the Z's history, with everything from classic 240s and 260s, all the way through the new 350Z in attendance. But Zs weren't the only four-wheeled delicacies on hand. Several Skyline GT-Rs made an appearance, along with a host of S13s and S14s, plus a Sunny GTi-R.<br /><br />Silverstone holds a special place in the automaker's European history, as it served as one of the first battlegrounds in which Datsuns started proving themselves against the giants of the 70s - including taking the 3-liter class in 1974 to beat out Porsche and TVR work teams.<br /><br />You can check out the event yourself by clicking on any of the thumbnails below.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/zedfest-2007/low/">ZedFest 2007</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/zedfest-2007/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/zedfest_1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/zedfest-2007/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/zedfest_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/zedfest-2007/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/zedfest_3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/zedfest-2007/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/zedfest_4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/06/its-not-z-its-zed-zedfest-at-silverstone/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>It's not 'Z,' it's 'Zed': Zedfest at Silverstone</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/06/its-not-z-its-zed-zedfest-at-silverstone/">It's not 'Z,' it's 'Zed': Zedfest at Silverstone</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 06 Jun 2007 08:29:00 EST. According to Nunn, rumor has it that the next-gen Supra's design will be inspired by the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-ft-hs-concept/">FT-HS Concept</a>, which we kinda sort of already knew, and be powered by either a hybrid drivetrain or an all-gas V6. <br /><br />The last issue of <em>Automobile Magazine</em> <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/09/toyota-ft-hs-coming-in-2009/">claimed</a> that the FT-HS Concept would go into production as Toyota's Supra successor, but made no mention of another all-gas version. WR's Nunn, however, speculates that the car will be offered with either an updated version of the 3.5L V6 from the Lexus IS350 producing around 330bhp and a V6 hybrid drivetrain likely scooped from the Lexus GS450h and producing 400bhp. <br /><br />The all-gas Supra would obviously be less expensive than the hybrid version, and thus would likely be the volume seller of the two. Looks like we're expecting both to arrive sometime in the latter half of 2008, though any details having to do with Toyota's plans for the Supra are obviously about as firm as Jell-o. <br /><br />[Source: Winding Road]<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-ft-hs-concept/low/">Toyota FT-HS Concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-ft-hs-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/toyota-ft-hs_naias---09_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-ft-hs-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/toyota-ft-hs_naias---14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-ft-hs-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/toyota-ft-hs_naias---11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-ft-hs-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/toyota-ft-hs_naias---02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-ft-hs-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/toyota-ft-hs_naias---15_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/29/rumor-mill-new-supra-details-emerge/">Rumor Mill: New Supra details emerge</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 29 May 2007 12:57:00 EST. <p>When you are called to some difficult duty by family or love or ambition, you take the bitter pill and do what needs to be done. When the red Nismo 350Z above called to Jesse Edgar, he knew what he had to do: unload the immense video game, console, and accessory collection covering every surface of his room. Not to buy the car, just to get a "nice" down payment.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/18/mega-huge-video-game-and-console-collection-for-sale-on-ebay/"><img width="250" vspace="4" hspace="4" height="188" border="1" align="right" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/04/vidgamecoll.jpg" alt="game collection" /></a>You know when the vice squad makes a huge bust and they load a table up with the haul? Imagine if video games and consoles were illegal, and the cops busted a guy in a bunker who had been hoarding contraband for 30 years. When his loot was laid out for photographs, it would look like the pictures on Jesse's <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;item=150113746425">eBay page</a>. From a 1976 Fairchild to a Sony PS2 and an insane number of games -- and a lunchbox and Monopoly game -- it's all there. You'll also get quite the education in consoles if you read the entire thing. We don't know what the street value is, but the bidding starts at $2,000. This is what "turn and burn" is all about. Good luck, Jesse.</p>
