In case there aren't enough on the roads in your area to make the case, Corvette Blogger reports that at last weekend's Corvettes at Carlisle show, General Motors showed a graphic putting the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray production run at 37,288 units. That is about equal to the last three years of the C6 Corvette – combined – and includes Premiere Editions, regular retail sales, and "exports and captured fleet cars that were sellable units" according to Corvette product manager

Will the Chevy Corvette go mid-engine? It's a strong possibility, according to a report from Motor Trend.

Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.

Hennessey Performance (HPE) has released another weapon for those determined to outgun all other vehicles on the road. This one is called the HPE700 Twin-Turbo Corvette Stingray - and predictably, it goes like stink.

European auto writers, especially the British, have a bit of a reputation for favoring their own domestic cars over foreign rivals in comparison tests. Just think about how many times you've heard Jeremy Clarkson deify the latest product of UK loins while denigrating an American rival as a hopeless "Yank Tank." However, we have to tip our hats to the folks at Autocar because in its latest video comparing the 2014 Corvette Stingray to the Porsche 911, Jaguar F-Type V8 S and Audi R8, it's actually

They come from two different worlds and have little in common. The Tesla Model S P85 is the sportiest version of this paradigm-punching sedan from California, while the 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51 is a performance-enhanced version of Michigan's recently-updated sports car stalwart. The West Coast car seats five adults and eats electrons like Popeye eats spinach, the Easterner has two passenger places and, surprisingly, sips gasoline like one might bourbon.

The history of the American space program is inextricably linked to the Chevrolet Corvette. It was the ride of choice for a number of astronauts, including many that were a part of the legendary Apollo program, which landed men on the moon. Neil Armstrong drove a Corvette, and six Mercury astronauts were Corvette owners as well. The crew of Apollo 12 ordered three identical C3 Stingrays (Alan Bean's is shown above).

We knew that once Hennessey Performance got its hands on the seventh-generation Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, big things were going to happen. A 200.6-mile-per-hour run on a closed section of Texas' brand-new State Highway 99, was just a shade bigger than what we were expecting. The run was also a test of the new toll road - which Hennessey founder John Hennessey called "perfectly smooth" - and the RFID toll system, which was still able to tag the Corvette at 200 miles per hour (toll dodgers bewa

The 2014 North American International Auto Show is right around the corner, which means it's high time we find out which cars and trucks have become finalists for the prestigious North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards.

Because Dubai is a rather silly land, today we bring you this - a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray that's just joined the Dubai Fire Brigade. Courtesy of our friends at Drive Arabia, we wouldn't expect to see this at the scene of many actual fires.

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.

Car culture on each coast of the US has historically been markedly different, and Chevrolet aims to show some of the differences with a pair of Corvette concepts at SEMA. Representing the East Coast is the Corvette Stingray Convertible Atlantic concept, while the Corvette Stingray Coupe Pacific concept has the West Coast flair.

Open Up And Say 'Aahhh!'

The last time your humble narrator found himself driving a Corvette, someone saluted. It happened last fall in a 2013 427 Collector Edition Convertible, white with silver stripes, and the unexpected gesture of respect came courtesy of one of America's finest servicemen in khaki fatigues: a UPS driver. He stood up in the open doorway of his step van while opposing the sixth-generation Corvette at a stoplight, spontaneously presenting the stern-faced, clipped salutation of a veteran. Icons demand

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us – how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.

We collectively rejoiced when Hasbro decided to keep the racecar as a token for Monopoly, but now it appears car lovers will have a new game piece to hoard, on a new version of the classic board game called Monopoly Empire. Instead of vying for fictitious properties and railroads, Monopoly Empire allows players to duke it out for ownership of some of the world's top brands; representing the automotive world in the new brand-focused game is the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

The new Chevrolet Corvette has a trick exhaust system that muffles the exhaust note when the electronically controlled valve flaps inside it are closed, and let's the V8 roar when they're open. The system works its mysterious magic depending on the drive mode and the engine's rpm. Here, Patrick Herrmann, Technical Manager of Chevrolet Europe, attempts to show us what's actually going on in the Stingray's exhaust system to give it its dynamic sound.

Almost immediately after the final C6 Corvette rolled off the line in Bowling Green, Kentucky, demolition began on the factory floor. Since then, for both the safety of the public and secrecy about the Corvette Stingray, Chevrolet has placed public tours of the plant on hold.

How would you react if someone just showed up at your place of work with a new, 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, complete with all the trimmings? While a lot of us would likely be flipping out over the still rare sports car, it's a fair bet many more of us would be responding like Pattie here, whose boyfriend stopped by her work to show her her new C7.

Several months ago, Chevrolet surprised us by claiming the seven-speed manual version of its 2014 Corvette Stingray could achieve up to 30 miles per gallon when driven in Eco mode. The car's official EPA rating eventually worked out to 17 mpg city and 29 highway. Now, the numbers are out for models equipped with the optional six-speed paddleshift automatic transmission – which Chevy says is the version most buyers are selecting – and the numbers are very similar to the manual, despit
