Recently, a fellow editor at AOL asked me to choose "the most beautiful car on the road" for a story he was preparing. I was allowed to choose any vehicle, at any price, as long as it was a model currently in production and offered for sale. Aston Martin unveiled its droptop Vanquish Volante a couple months ago at Pebble Beach, and for 10 lucky souls, the high-performance convertible is going to be a hit this holiday season. Neiman Marcus just released its Christmas Book for 2013, and the car of choice for its annual catalog of high-end goods is none other than the 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante.
As one the featured automakers at this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, Aston Martin had a pretty big spotlight with which to reveal two production vehicles to the North American market. The 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante (shown above) made its global premiere in Monterey, while the 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S (inset) made its debut on American soil.
Aston Martin is one of the featured marques at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. With events set for August 14 through 17 and the show itself on August 18, the British brand is going all out in showing its sleek, powerful GT cars to the throngs of well-heeled attendees.
Behold the 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante in all its convertible glory. Like its hard top twin, the convertible Vanquish boasts a 5.9-liter V12 engine with 565 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque.
