<br />
Looks like the <a href="http://autoblog.com/ford/escape">Escape</a> isn't the only <a href="http://autoblog.com/ford">Ford</a> crossover with the potential for <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/09/05/2013-ford-escape-recalled-for-third-time-again-for-fire-risk/">fires down below</a>. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced that 5,499 <a href="http://autoblog.com/ford/edge">Edge</a> models are being recalled due to a fuel line issue. All of the affected vehicles were built between September 2, 2010 and October 31, 2011.<br />
<br />
According to the NHTSA report, "The fuel line pulse damper metal housing may crack as a result of an improper manufacturing process." This means that the fuel line can leak, and we don't need to tell you why that's a bad thing.<br />
<br />
The official recall campaign is expected to begin later this month, at which point Ford will notify owners and dealers will repair the affected vehicles free of charge. <a href="/2012/09/17/2012-ford-edge-ecoboost-recalled-over-engine-fire-risk/#continued">Scroll down</a> to read the full NHTSA report.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/09/17/2012-ford-edge-ecoboost-recalled-over-engine-fire-risk/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>2012 Ford Edge EcoBoost recalled over engine fire risk</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/09/17/2012-ford-edge-ecoboost-recalled-over-engine-fire-risk/">2012 Ford Edge EcoBoost recalled over engine fire risk</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 17 Sep 2012 10:46:00 EST. <br />
The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/ford/edge">2012 Ford Edge</a> is set to be available with four-cylinder <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ecoboost">EcoBoost</a> power with the addition of a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, and reports are emerging that the vehicle will be able to return some fairly impressive fuel economy numbers. According to Ford Inside News, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/environmental protection agency">Environmental Protection Agency</a> has concluded testing, and the Edge 2.0 EcoBoost has managed to eek out 30 mpg highway. That's three miles per gallon better than the comparable 3.5-liter V6-equipped 2011 model and two miles per gallon better than the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/ford/explorer">Explorer</a> 2.0-liter EcoBoost, whose 28 mpg highway figure was just <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/07/28/2012-ford-explorer-2-0-liter-ecoboost-to-net-20-mpg-city-28-hig/">made official last week</a>.<br />
<br />
Ford Inside News also reports that the engine will continue to turn out 240 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque when tucked into the Edge. While we're betting that while our right foot will likely miss the extra 45 horsepower produced by the 3.5-liter V6, the extra 22 pound-feet of torque mustered up by the forced-induction four-cylinder should help make up the gap. Our wallets probably won't mind skipping the gas station a little more often, too.<br />
<br />
<em><strong>UPDATE: </strong>Ford has confirmed the 2012 Edge EcoBoost's 30 mpg fuel economy rating in the official press release <a href="/2011/08/01/2012-ford-edge-to-hit-30-mpg-with-2-0-liter-ecoboost/#continued">after the jump</a>.</em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/08/01/2012-ford-edge-to-hit-30-mpg-with-2-0-liter-ecoboost/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>2012 Ford Edge to hit 30 mpg with 2.0-liter EcoBoost [UPDATE]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/08/01/2012-ford-edge-to-hit-30-mpg-with-2-0-liter-ecoboost/">2012 Ford Edge to hit 30 mpg with 2.0-liter EcoBoost [UPDATE]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 01 Aug 2011 16:01:00 EST. <br />
With <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/ford/">Ford</a> stepping up to become <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/07/12/ford-first-to-support-bill-banning-handheld-phones-while-driving/">the first automaker to support the Safe Drivers Act of 2011</a>, the Blue Oval is putting its money where its mouth is by dropping the price of its <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/Sync/">Sync</a> system from $395 to $295.<br />
<br />
The updated pricing will extend first to the 2012 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/ford/explorer/">Explorer</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/ford/edge/">Edge</a>, and will be available on all trim levels of the Edge, with the SEL, Limited and Sport models coming standard with the system and the SE now available with Sync as an option. The pricing will later extend to the 2013 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/ford/escape/">Escape</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/ford/flex/">Flex</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/ford/focus/">Focus</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/ford/taurus/">Taurus</a>.<br />
<br />
In addition to the standard infotainment and navigation functions, Ford is touting the hands-free capabilities of Sync as a safety feature, along with 911 Assist and the Sync Services subscription plan which includes turn-by-turn directions, traffic reports and business searches, all of which can be performed without ever taking your eyes off the road.<br />
<br />
Ford plans to make Sync and the new pricing strategy available on every North American model by 2014, and expect a host of upgrades and refinements to happen in the process. <a href="/2011/08/01/ford-slashes-sync-price-by-100-coming-to-all-models-in-three-y/#continued">Hit the jump</a> for the full details.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/08/01/ford-slashes-sync-price-by-100-coming-to-all-models-in-three-y/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Ford slashes Sync price by $100, coming to all models in three years</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/08/01/ford-slashes-sync-price-by-100-coming-to-all-models-in-three-y/">Ford slashes Sync price by $100, coming to all models in three years</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 01 Aug 2011 00:01:00 EST.
