Luxgen is making a splash at the Shanghai Motor Show with the world debut of its Neora EV sedan shown here. Sporting a 48 kW induction motor, Luxgen says the car's electric powertrain will push the four-door to 60 miles per hour in an impressive 6.5 seconds. That may not be lightning quick, but it's plenty rapid enough - even by internal combustion standards. To make matters more intriguing, Luxgen says the Neora should be able to go around 250 miles on a single charge. When the juice runs out, the company claims you can have the Neora's battery back to 80 percent within an hour, meaning you shouldn't have to worry too much about longer journeys.

Inside, there's a full-length glass roof to let in natural light and an LED-screen rear-seat entertainment system. Up front, Luxgen has installed a head-up display to keep the driver's eyes on the road while he keeps tabs on the infotainment system.

There's no telling how much of the Neora's shape will make production, but Luxgen says the car will set the design language for its upcoming offerings. Though the Neora is carrying around a raft of forward-looking tech wizardry, the car's overall shape looks like it could be a production sedan with just a few tweaks.

Even so, the Taiwanese automaker is noticeably quiet about a production schedule and doesn't give any indication when its future offerings might surface.

With a virtually endless array of color combinations available, there's really no reason any two examples of the Bugatti Veyron should ever be the same. And these latest two are no exception.

Unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show this week, this pair of Veyrons feature unique color and trim combinations to make them stand out even from this rarefied crowd.

On one hand, we have a Grand Sport - the convertible version of the Veyron - trimmed out in matte white with blue carbon fiber, with a complementing blue interior with white stitching. On the other we have a Super Sport - the record-breaking 1,100-horsepower version of the Veyron - decked out in black lacquered carbon fiber and a cream interior.

Both stand as (very quickly) rolling testaments to the rather Orwellian notion that while every Veyron is special, some are more special than others. Scope 'em out in the gallery below and follow the jump for the full details in the press release.

Buick has a huge presence in China, where customers have placed the Tri-shield brand on par with the world's leading luxury automakers. It makes sense, then, that Buick would choose the Shanghai Auto Show as the location of choice to showcase the brand's new compact crossover concept.

General Motors says the Envision integrates global design with local Chinese-oriented aesthetics. GM says that the concept was made to have an "elegant and smooth exterior that emphasizes its modern styling and contemporary sportiness." The concept is also said to pack the new technology that the company hopes will eventually be a staple of the Buick brand, including an advanced plug-in hybrid system.

The Buick team isn't showing us much with this teaser sketch, but we can at least see plenty of sharp lines, a pair of sinister-looking taillamps and a lower rear fascia treatment that might look good on the Buick Regal GS. The General will officially unveil the Envision concept at the Shanghai Motor Show on April 18. Hit the jump to look over the brief press release.
2013 Chevrolet Malibu teaser - Click above for high-res image

The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu will officially be revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show on April 19, and General Motors has released this official teaser shot of its new 'Bu, showing off its new Camaro-inspired LED taillamps. GM will also be bringing the Malibu to the New York Auto Show, which officially starts on April 20, where we'll get our first glimpse of the new Chevrolet family sedan in the flesh.

We've seen quite a few spy shots of the new Malibu, and we know that it will ride on GM's smaller Epsilon II platform that currently underpins the Buick Regal. Still, GM tells us that the new Malibu will be wider than the model it replaces, and we can expect a more rakish exterior design. The Malibu will be sold in nearly 100 countries on six different continents, and thus, a global design that would appeal to all markets is necessary in order for it to be a success.

Expect the Malibu to only be available with four-cylinder engines, including GM's naturally aspirated 2.4-liter Ecotec four and its turbocharged 2.0-liter powerplant. Rumor has it that a hybrid version is also in the works, as is an all-wheel-drive model.

You can watch the official Chevrolet Malibu reveal on the automaker's Facebook page on Monday, April 18 at 8:30 PM EST - right when the sheets are pulled back in Shanghai. For the full details, hit the jump for GM's official press release, as well as a short video detailing some of the Malibu's overall design elements.

At the recent Geneva Motor Show, a source within Mini revealed to Autoblog that the automaker will be bringing a new concept, dubbed "Goodwood," to the Shanghai Motor Show next month.

The Goodwood concept is a fully plushified, hand-wrought hatchback updo that pays hommage to not only the current Rolls-Royce headquarters on the Goodwood estate (hey, it's all in the BMW Group family), but also to the Rolls-Royce/Bentley glory years of bespoke treatments by the in-house Mulliner Park Ward department. Consider it a high-margin fluff job for present-day good-taste barometer nations like China, Russia, India, Abu Dhabi and Switzerland.

Coachbuilder Park Ward of London became a wholly owned part of Rolls-Royce/Bentley in 1939, while H.J. Mulliner & Co. was absorbed in 1961. Together these workers melded into one under the legendary Mulliner Park Ward bespoke umbrella. In 1998 when Rolls-Royce and Bentley were hewn asunder, Mulliner was eventually reconstituted under the Bentley brand as its bespoke group, while Park Ward lasted until 2002 at the end of the limited-run Rolls-Royce Park Ward extended-wheelbase model.

We're eager to get our hands on the official images and details sometime before the Wee Roller's debut next month. Should be rich.
