Image above for illustrative purposes only

Two weeks ago reports began to surface that Lamborghini could be preparing to launch a new two-tone Bicolore edition of the Gallardo at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show. But since the pace of the automotive industry is unrelenting, this week's reports indicate that a Tricolore edition could be in the works, too.

So... a two-tone special followed by a three-tone one? We must have lost something in the translation here. And we almost did. Word has it that the second special-edition Gallardo will not be a three-tone model, but a Tricolore in the sense of the Italian flag. The country, you see, is preparing to celebrate 150 years of unification, a national milestone which Lamborghini very well might celebrate with a commemorative patriotic edition featuring the red, white and green.

Then again, it could just be a three-tone paint job. We'll have to wait and see, with sources tipping the Tricolore edition's launch to take place in Geneva in March.
The car shares plenty of DNA with the drop-dead sexy S60 sedan the company unveiled at this year's Geneva Motor Show, including the artfully-styled front fascia. Throw in an extra acre of roof metal, a set of familial brake lights and plenty of cargo room, and you've got a winner all the way around.

So far there's no word on what we can expect to find in the engine bay, but the same 300 horsepower, turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder found in the S60 sedan wouldn't be a bad guess. Odds are the company will offer both front and all-wheel drive versions of the long-roof whenever it hits the market, too. Expect the V60 to come loaded with plenty of the same safety tech, including the Swedish automaker's new Collision Warning system.

2010 Brabus E V12 Coupe - Click above for high-res image gallery

It's been several days since we left the Geneva Motor Show and we're still finding cars that we somehow missed out on the floor. We especially don't know how we managed to skip this bad boy in the Brabus booth, as it should have been nearly impossible to miss. It's called the E V12 Coupe, and it's got 800 horsepower. Enough said.

There's nothing new about Brabus stuffing a V12 into an E-Class. They've been doing it since 1996, and have been making twin-turbo models since 2003. The latest version is based off of the new E Coupe, and it's a much prettier car than the awkward looking E V12 Black Baron that we saw in Frankfurt. Fortunately it does share the same engine - a 6.3-liter twin-turbo V12 putting out 800 horsepower and 1047 lb-ft torque. Brabus quotes a 0-100 km/h time of just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 230 mph, and judging from the performance of their previous cars we are inclined to believe them.

Besides the engine, the E V12 Coupe also comes with larger brakes, a Brabus-spec coilover suspension system, 19-inch wheels and more carbon fiber than you can shake a stick at. The front spoiler, grille, front and rear fenders, rear diffuser, intake system, interior trim and seats are all made from the lightweight material. What is all of this going to cost you? 478,000 Euros - approximately $650,000 using today's exchange rate, or more than 13 E-Class Coupes.

Hamann Conqueror II - Click above for high-res image gallery

There were so many debuts at the Geneva Motor Show this year that a few new cars were bound to slip through the cracks. We happened to miss this custom Range Rover Sport from Hamann, probably because the 670 horsepower Tycoon Evo M was sharing the same stand. Named the Conqueror II, it follows up on Hamann's first take of the Range Rover Sport that debuted a few years ago.

Benefiting from the RR Sport Supercharged's new 5.0-liter V8, the Conqueror II packs 560 horsepower and 506 lb-ft torque thanks to a revised engine management system and a sport exhaust. The exterior gets the full Hamann treatment, with a full body kit, carbon fiber hood, LED running lights and forged 23-inch wheels. Interior modifications are relatively subtle (the snakeskin seats in Conqueror I are thankfully absent) and include the usual stuff like embriodered mats, plus aluminum and carbon fiber accents. Hit the jump for full details, and high-res photos can be found in the gallery below.

Carlsson C25 - Click above for high-res image gallery

We have to admit that we were a little disappointed when we saw the Carlsson C25 in person. The finished product doesn't seem to quite have the ultra-aggressive look of the original concept sketches. It could also be that we're not huge fans of the silver, black and orange paint scheme, nor of the brown and orange interior. In Carlsson's defense, the color combination was chosen by their customer, and we'd like to see another version in a solid color and a better choice of interior hues before we declare a verdict.

Even so, the C25 is an impressive beast. Under the hood is a Carlsson-built 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 putting out 753 horsepower and 974 lb-ft of torque, good for a conservatively listed 3.7 second sprint to 100 km/h and a top speed of just under 220 mph. To also appeal to potential clients, Carlsson has made exclusivity a top priority, limiting production to just 25 units and selling only one example in each country where they're available. As is proven by the car you see here, customers can choose from a near-limitless range of exterior and interior color combinations. Hit the jump for more details on the Carlsson C25 or browse through the gallery of live photos below.

Getting a lot from a little. That might as well be Abarth's official slogan, translated into Italian, of course, for that added dose of Mediterranean flair. Fiat's performance division manages, first of all, to construct an entire line-up of hot hatches based on two models. And what they turn them into are genuine giant slayers.

As we reported just last week in the run-up to this year's Geneva Motor Show, the Abarth Punto Evo takes the recently revised Fiat hatchback as its basis, and upgrades it, first and foremost, with 1.6-liter turbocharged MultiAir four-bangers in either 165- or 178-horsepower guise. Add to that upgraded wheels, brakes, suspension, interior and body kit, and suddenly this scorpion-emblazoned hatchback - a decidedly more modern alternative to the 500 - packs a real sting.

For better or worse, though, while its much-loved retro stablemate may finally make it Stateside in the near future, no such plans are known for the Punto in any form, so enjoy the live photos from the show floor in the high-res gallery below and the details in the press release after the jump.

Techart at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show - Click above for high-res image gallery

There were dozens of tuners exhibiting at the Geneva Motor Show, but Porsche specialist Techart had one of the more impressive displays. Three of their cars made world debuts this week including a customized 911 Turbo, their latest version of the GTStreet R and a concept based on the Panamera.

The Panamera, named the Concept One, is undoubtedly the most interesting of the bunch. The exterior features a new body kit that's on the reserved side compared to some of the others we've seen, although the new front end and the vented hood give it a fairly aggressive look. The interior really caught our attention, however, with its cocoa and white colors combined with green stitching and cerbero leather trim. It looks pretty cool, but realistically we guess it would be pretty tough to keep clean. Check out each of the cars live from the show floor in the high-res gallery below.

Nobody could rationally justify that they "need" a Maserati Quattroporte, but we'd gladly take one just the same. In similar fashion, we don't "need" an excuse to photograph and report on the sumptuous Italian exotic saloon. But we'll take any we can get. This year's is called the Awards Edition.

Created to mark the innumerable honorable citations the QPorte has accrued since its launch a couple of years ago, the Awards Edition starts off with the top-of-the-line Quattroporte GT S. From there, the Trident marque has upgraded it with special "Quarzo Fuso" paint, tastefully muted brightwork, and an interior decked out in the creamiest of leathers and Alcantara. 20-inch wheels round out the package housing upgraded Brembo brakes.

New trimmings does not a new Quattroporte make, but then it doesn't require much in the way of enhancement. It'll do for an excuse, though. Check it out in the galleries below.

With all the hullabaloo - yes, hullabaloo - about the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, it would've been all too easy to assume the new gullwing is the only retro German sportscar on the market. But forgetting the Wiesmann GT would be a cardinal sin and capital offense, because the niche-market sportscar is among the most tantalizing on the road. While the design may be decidedly old-school, Wiesmann works tirelessly to keep it fresh with successive updates to propel this time-machine well past the requisite 88 miles per hour and out from the past and into the present.

At this year's Geneva Motor Show, the small German outfit rolled out the modestly updated GT MF4-S. New bi-xenon headlamps show the way home and a new automatically- or manually-actuated retractable spoiler keeps the tail planted. Under the hood, the MF4-S is treated to the same 4.0-liter, 420-horsepower V8 as the BMW M3 from which it's sourced and, more poignantly, the MF4-S Roadster. All in all not major changes, but then who ever said the Wiesmann needed much changed?

The Wiesmann GT MF4-S will push you to highway speeds in four seconds flat and cost 133,000 euros (equivalent to about $175k). If that's too rich for your blood, you can take a gander in the galleries below and browse the details in the press release after the jump.

Few marques manage to tread the line between sportiness and elegance quite so exquisitely as Maserati. But some are looking for something that errs a little more towards the former, and for them the Trident marque has launched the MC Sport Line.

One step off the track and onto the road this side of a race-spec MC GT4, the MC Sport line gives Gran Turismo S buyers a catalog of optional extras, from carbon fiber bits all the way up to the exclusive limited edition model made for the Middle East. The range was initially unveiled at the local Bologna Motor Show, but this was our first chance to get next to it and bring you the results. Have a look in the galleries below.

Abt R8 GTR - Click above for high-res image gallery

We got our first peek at Abt's R8 GTR late last year, but like with many cars, it was a whole different experience to see it in person. To say carbon fiber has been used liberally is an understatement, as the entire car is clothed in the lightweight material. The look suits the R8, and Abt has managed to give the car a more aggressive look without going overboard. The interior is lathered in carbon fiber as well, and lightweight Recaro racing seats help reduce weight even further. In total, Abt has managed to take 220 pounds off the R8's heft.

In addition to changing the look of the car, Abt has given the R8 more power as well. Its 5.2-liter V10 is now rated at 620 horsepower, good for a 0-100 km/h sprint of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph. Other performance upgrades include an adjustable sport suspension, ceramic brake system, lightweight 18-inch wheels and Michelin Sport Cup tires.

Sound like your thing? Abt will produce just 25 examples, so get your order in soon. More details about the car can be found in the press release after the jump and live shots from the show floor in the gallery below.

For every car, there's a prospective customer. And for a car like the Fiat 500C, a cutesy retro mini with a pseudo-cabrio sliding canvas roof, we hardly need to point out who that target demographic is. But as if to highlight what a difference the little things can make, the Abarth version is another beast entirely.

By "little things", here we mean stuff like a 140-horsepower, 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a five-speed sequential paddle-shift transmission and a badass two-tone paint job. All that may not sound like much, but when applied to a little thing like the 500C, it represents the difference between the stock Fiat's potential customer and the car nut who takes her out for an evening on the town.

If the collaborative minds at Fiat and Chrysler deem us worthy, we'd enthusiastically count ourselves among the Abarth 500C's potential customers. But for now we'll just have to enjoy admiring it on the show floor here in Geneva where it's just been unveiled, and we have the photos to prove it along with more details in the press release after the jump.

Ze Germans may be known for their efficiency, but try this on for size: French automaker Peugeot is gearing up to replace two sedans with - wait for it - just one! Feigned enthusiasm aside, this is the one that stands to take the job, and it's a pretty sharp looking sedan.

More telling, however, though dubbed a concept car, the 5 by Peugeot looks fairly close to production-ready status, especially compared to design studies like the RC HyMotion4 concept, another four-door concept from Peugeot unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 2008. Oh, and we're disregarding the lack of any interior on this show car.

We expect a production version of the 5 by Peugeot to replace both the 407 and 607 within the next couple of years. In the meantime - particularly since Peugeot doesn't market in North America - you can take a closer look in the gallery below.

If Proton is going to make it on the global scene amidst the big players, it's going to need some help. Fortunately for the Malaysian state-owned automaker, help isn't far behind.

With the world's major carmakers bringing more and more of their design and manufacturing work in-house, firms like ItalDesign Giugiaro have been left scrounging for new clients. Proton is one such, and this is what they came up with: the Emas city car concept.

A sharp design - rendered in five-door, three-door and outback-style Country forms - will get Proton only so far. For the mechanical side of things, they had but to turn to their (relatively) recent acquisition, Lotus. The British engineering firm developed the Lotus Range Extender hybrid powertrain propelling the Emas - to say nothing of the new Evora 414E hybrid - and by all indications had a hand in the chassis development as well, a traditional core competence for the makers of the Elise and Exige.

Will the spritely Proton make it to production? There's no official confirmation yet, but you don't bring in ringers - some of the best in the field at that - unless you're planning on making a run for the pennant. While the regular season is in progress, why not have a look at our live shots in the gallery below.

It's hard to imagine that the MX-5 (Miata) has been around for 20 years, but time flies when you're carving up canyon roads in a nimble two-door sports car. Mazda has made quite a hoopla about the car's 20th anniversary, bringing out some of the best concept and specialty versions at the Chicago Auto Show, throwing a huge party for owners in Japan, and creating an anniversary edition for both the Japanese and the Brits. Here at the Geneva Motor Show, Mazda announced yet another 20th anniversary edition MX-5, this time available for all of Europe.

The European MX-5 20th Anniversary Edition can be picked out by its chrome trim, silver-look fog lamps, unique 17-inch wheels and 20th anniversary logos. The only performance upgrade is a strut tower brace in the engine bay, and customers can choose from True Red, Crystal White Pearl or Aurora Blue. Follow the jump for the brief press release from Mazda or browse through our live photos in the gallery below.

What's the one thing that would fix the automotive industry today? Fresh ideas, you say? Well, this isn't quite that. In fact auto shows these days - Geneva particularly - have become packed with legions of swoopy, stylish four-door hybrid concepts. What this is, though, is one of the more attractive ones we've seen to date.

Created by the quizzically-abbreviated I.DE.A. Institute, the Sofia's hourglass shape is (according to the press release after the jump, at least) inspired by the female form. And we don't have much trouble believing that line, curvaceous as it is. The hybrid part, though, is pure fantasy. Because like many design studies, the I.DE.A. Sofia is an empty body shell. It's got no interior, but more to the point, it has no mechanicals inside. Its creators say it could theoretically accommodate a V8 engine, with or without the assistance of an electric motor, driving either the front wheels or the rear.

Like it? Don't get too excited by the prospect of production. The I.DE.A Institute claims to have contributed to designs for numerous major automakers, but in its 30-year history has produced more household appliances and furniture. But for the next upstart looking to join the likes of Fisker and Tesla, the sumptuous shape could be just the ticket. Don't take our word for it; have a closer look for yourself in the galleries below.

Mansory G-Couture - Click above for high-res image gallery

If there's one thing we can say about Mansory, it's that they sure aren't afraid to try new things. A pink Bentley? Sure. A blue and gold Rolls-Royce Ghost? Why not? Then there's this highly modified G55 AMG built in cooperation with fashion designer Philipp Plein named the G-Couture. With a production run of just seven examples, this heavily modified Benz will only be available to a limited few. Truthfully, it's probably better that way.

While we aren't necessarily against fully cladding a G55 in carbon fiber, our hesitation with the G-Couture is less about the concept and more about the execution. The front end particularly looks overly-styled, and the unpainted fibers seem more appropriate on a sports car. We can, however, appreciate the upgrades done underneath the hood. Mansory has boosted the supercharged V8 to 700 horsepower and 649 lb-ft torque. Necessary? Of course not, but impressive nonetheless. Hit the jump for more details about the G-Couture, or check it out in all its carbon fiber glory in the gallery below.

Bugatti Grand Sport Cutaway - Click above for high-res image gallery

There's no doubt that the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport is an impressive car just from looking at it, and it's even easier to sing its praises when you get to drive it. Bugatti has given us one more reason to be impressed here at the Geneva Motor Show with a cutaway version of its $1.2 million supercar. The car is divided into its two main sub-assemblies, showing off its carbon fiber structure and internal components.

Perhaps the most impressive thing about the car is how Bugatti managed to cram so much into so small a space. The Grand Sport is a relatively small car, and fitting an 8.0-liter W16 engine complete with four turbochargers into the space behind the rear seats was no small feat. The display shows just how Bugatti did it, though, and we walked away even more amazed at what went into packaging all the components of the car. You can see for yourself in the high-res gallery below.

Gumpert Apollo S - Click above for high-res image gallery

With a quick glance it might look like there's nothing new at the Gumpert display here at the Geneva Motor Show, but the German sportwagenmanufaktur actually had several new announcements regarding their Apollo supercar. For 2010 Gumpert has added even more horsepower to the Apollo S - 750 compared to 700 - thanks to a new engine calibration and improved cooling. The 6-speed sequential transmission can now perform shifts in a mere 40 milliseconds, and gear changes are made easier with new paddles behind the steering wheel. Visually the Apollo gets LED running lights and additional flaps at the rear of the car to improve aerodynamics. Lastly, Gumpert has launched its very first right-hand-drive Apollo in a push to capture more international buyers.

While we still aren't completely taken with the Gumpert's looks, there's no doubt that the Apollo S is in the upper echelon of supercars. The previous version lapped the Nurburgring in an astounding 7:11.57, and we have no doubt the the new car can improve on that time. Hit the jump for the press release from Gumpert or browse through our gallery of live shots below.

Remember the day when Aston Martins were two-seat sportscars? Yeah, neither can we because a lot's happened since then. The Rapide four-door. The Lagonda crossover concept. And this, the Cygnet.

News first broke that Aston was working on a city car based on the Toyota iQ back in June, with initial details and photos released half a year later. Now the Cygnet has made its official auto show debut here in Geneva, modestly nestled in between the company's Vantages and DB9s.

The idea is to provide existing Aston owners with an urban tender in which to zip around congested city centers like London. Say what you will of the idea, but the fit and finish on the Cygnet look suitably Aston. Just shrunken down and chopped up. With it, Aston Martin just might end up redefining what an Aston Martin is. But a sportscar, good sir, it most certainly is not. Have a look for yourself in the gallery of live shots below, and the stock shots in the gallery below that, complete with Gulf livery and Bape-aping camouflage.
