We weren't exactly smitten with the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco when we got the chance to take one out for a spin, thanks in part to the eAssist wizardry aimed at improving the vehicle's fuel economy. With a lackluster drivetrain, regenerative brakes and low rolling resistance tries, the Malibu Eco simply isn't capable of keeping its head high among the competition.
Last year, the state of Washington contemplated a tax that would be placed on vehicles dependent upon the displacement of its engine. The displacement tax was eventually discarded but not forgotten. Automakers noted the possibility of this tax cropping up again in the future and marked it in their books.
Audi's best selling A4 2.0 TDI diesel car has been presented with the coveted "Auto-Umwelt-Zertifikat" (car environment certificate) by the ÖKO-TREND institute in Wuppertal, Germany. The award was given for the A4's eco-friendliness, for the high environmental standards in its production processes and for Audi's noteworthy recycling measures.
