Suzuki Auto Show Coverage
Suzuki is the automotive division of Suzuki Motor Corporation based in Hamamatsu, Japan. Michio Suzuki founded the company in 1909 producing weaving looms, then explored producing a passenger car in 1937 before the onset of World War II. After the war, Suzuki began developing motorcycles and eventually cars with the introduction of the 1955 Suzulight. The company entered the US market in 1985 with the Samurai and produced vehicles for other manufacturers under contract like the Chevrolet Sprint, a rebadged version of the Suzuki Cultus.

0Shanghai: Suzuki Authentics Concept is genuine but drab 1366480740
Looks can certainly be deceiving. Have a glance at this new Suzuki Authentics concept, for example – we were told that this would, essentially, be a proper sedan version of the new SX4, but our folks on the ground in Shanghai tell us it's actually much larger. Like, bigger than the Kizashi. (Hey, remember the Kizashi?) Regardless, Suzuki says that ...

Teased: Suzuki offers sneak peek at Authentics concept for Shanghai 1364749020
Suzuki has prepared the C-segment Authentics concept for the Shanghai Motor Show, a preview of a sedan that would slot into the fattest chunk of the market among China's car buyers. Suzuki hasn't given away much, saying only that it is "Sporty x Elegant" and that it's long and low and has a "rich and fine curved surface." PaulTan.org says this is the ...

Geneva: 2013 Suzuki SX4 gets new generation to carry on without us [w/video] 1362571200
Despite the fact that the coffin has been sealed on Suzuki's US automotive arm, the brand is carrying on elsewhere in the world. The first new product to spearhead the Japanese automaker's product offerings in Europe is this SX4 crossover, making its official debut here at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. You may remember the little SX4 as the cheapest ...

Teased: Suzuki teases production C-segment crossover, could it have saved them in US? 1360173660
Suzuki may be retreating (amidst booming sales) from the US market, but its efforts to woo European buyers are still going strong. Witness as proof these shadowy teaser images of the automaker's new C-segment crossover that it plans to unveil at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Until the official debut, we've got just a few tidbits of information to ...

Paris: Suzuki sallies forth with new C-segment crossover with fishy S-Cross Concept 1348736520
It's not what we'd call attractive, really, but at least the new S-Cross Concept is something fresh from Suzuki. Introduced to the world at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, Suzuki says the pale green machine previews its upcoming production C-segment crossover. We hope some of its fishier elements – according to Suzie, the specially created Crystal Green ...

Report: Larger SX4 to lead raft of new or revised Suzuki models 1346338860
A few weeks ago, we showed you what is likely in store for the next-generation Suzuki SX4, but What Car? now has some insider info of what might be in store for other products in the aging Suzuki lineup... at least in the UK. When the official design sketch of the Suzuki S-Cross concept was released, Suzuki said that the concept car would be a C-segment ...

Official: Suzuki previews new S-Cross compact CUV ahead of Paris debut 1344609840
Despite having one heck of a lackluster presence here in the United States, Suzuki still manages to do well in other markets. That in mind, the automaker continually releases new products and concept cars at international auto shows that aren't destined for U.S. consumption, but this might not be one of those times. The aging SX4 crossover is in need of ...

Official: Garmin's first factory-installed nav units will be offered by Suzuki 1333367760
Garmin, a company known largely for its aftermarket navigation systems, will officially debut its first factory-installed in-car infotainment system at this week's New York Auto Show. In the past, Garmin has partnered with some automakers to offer pop-up navi systems as an affordable solution to buyers who want the functionality in their vehicles. This ...

Confirmed: Suzuki Regina concept renamed G70, production version coming? 1328400060
The Suzuki Regina concept shown at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show was an unusual little car. We don't want to get our hopes up about production (especially since we'd probably never get it in America anyway), but the Regina will return to the spotlight at the Geneva Motor Show with some tweaks that have us wondering if Suzuki plans to actually build the ...

Suzuki debuts range-extended Swift EV Hybrid 1322830440
Suzuki hit the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show with a small flotilla of green-minded vehicles, including the Swift EV Hybrid. According to the company, most Swift buyers travel between 12 and 18 miles per day, so engineers designed this range-extended EV to cover that distance on pure electric power. A small-displacement internal combustion engine remains on hand ...

Tokyo: Gas-sipping Suzuki Regina Concept begs for production 1322784000
There's something about the Suzuki Regina Concept that we like. A lot. For starters, it has a white roof. What's cool about that, you ask? Well, after Ford stole the idea from Mini for the Flex, nothing. But darn it if it doesn't look good here. With those rear fender skirts, we're actually seeing a good bit of Citroën DS in Suzuki's stylish ...

Suzuki Q Concept is long on cute, short on range 1322779560
If this year's Tokyo Motor Show is going to live up to its reputation for wacky, it's because of the Suzuki Q Concept. Looking like an oversized portable CD player rolling around on two sets of Apple earbuds, the electric Q is nothing if not cute. It's also different, with seating that's configurable for two adults in tandem fashion, or an adult up front ...

Tokyo: Suzuki gets small and funky for Tokyo with Regina compact, Q-Concept, Swift EV Hybrid 1320875820
For their home turf show, Japanese automakers often bring out the best and quirkiest. To cite just a few examples, how about the three different Nissan Pivo concepts, the Honda EV-N and the Nissan Land Glider. Suzuki continues the trend this year with a full slate of world premieres of unusual designs wrapped around some eco-friendly powertrains. The ...

We're gearing up for the next auto show season, with the Los Angeles showcase taking place in just a few weeks. Suzuki – an automaker that hasn't been doing so hot lately – will reportedly be absent from this year's festivities in Los Angeles, and will not be seen at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit come January. "For the ...

Frankfurt: 2012 Suzuki Swift Sport sure looks like fun... for someone else 1316040060
Despite the on-again, off-again rumors about its potential voyage to the United States, the Suzuki Swift still remains a tasty piece of forbidden fruit. A shame, too, especially since this new Sport version sounds like it'd be quite the enjoyable steer. The Swift Sport was first previewed by the S-Concept that debuted back in Geneva, but now packs 134 ...

Official: Suzuki to launch sprightlier Swift Sport in Frankfurt 1315918800
It's compact, sporty, has a manual transmission... and we don't expect it to arrive Stateside anytime soon. We're talking about the all-new Suzuki Swift Sport, which is set to make its official debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The compact hot hatch is a tuned version of the standard Swift, with power rated at 134 horses and torque at 118 ...
