SRT Spy Shots

SRT stands for Street & Racing Technology. What began as a group within Chrysler tasked with developing specialty vehicles like the Viper and Prowler (the group was originally called Specialty Vehicle Engineering) later grew to become the automaker's in-house performance vehicle development group. SRT has today become its own brand within Chrysler that continues to tune vehicles for each of the company's brands, as well as offer its own vehicle, the iconic Viper.

Spy Shots: 2013 SRT Viper looking fly in yellow?
    1335214560

We've already seen the production-ready 2013 SRT Viper. In fact, we named it Best In Show after it officially debuted at the 2012 New York Auto Show earlier this month. But what we haven't seen is the full color palette that will be offered, and our spy photographers recently caught a Viper prototype out testing sporting a fresh coat of yellow paint, as ...

Spy Shots: Is this the 2013 SRT Viper's new nose and hood?

Spy Shots: 2013 SRT Viper is starting to vent
    1330018140

There seems to be an endless stream of spy shots scrolling across out digital desktops here at Autoblog, and some will invariably be more interesting than others. But few are as hotly anticipated as the new Viper that's coming roaring around the corner. So far, all Chrysler has given us is a shadowy sketch, a close-up detail shot, and the new badge that ...

Followup: Mystery Dodge Journey SRT R/T might be the real deal
    1260990060

We first informed you yesterday about an interesting looking Dodge Journey SRT R/T prototype that AB reader Nick Leonard stumbled upon in Saginaw, MI. With its manufacturer lincense plates, unique wheels, quad exhaust tips, road-hugging stance and a well-integrated new front fascia, we figured might be some kind of HiPo Mopar project that the company has ...

Reader Spy: SRT-fettled Dodge Journey R/T spotted
    1260822000

We've always been intrigued by the notion of a higher performance people carrier, from back before Car and Driver magazine's Ford Windstar-based SHOStar to various shadetree high-strung turbocharged Chrysler minivans and outright lunacy like Renault's Espace-bodied F1 car. Of course, that isn't what you're looking at here: it's what appears to be an ...
