0Video: Brabus teases new Smart concept, we scratch our heads 1307055540
Of all the auto marques on the market, Smart isn't exactly the first we'd associate with high performance. That's where Brabus comes in. The longtime Mercedes-Benz tuner has emerged as something like Smart's own AMG – that is to say, the factory-approved tuning house of choice – offering an array of aftermarket accessories for the diminutive ...

Spy Shots: Are you the Smart ForTwo+2? 1296480420
The Smart rumor mill keeps churning and this latest image adds even more fuel to the fire. Thanks to some crafty, long-lens work, a photographer has managed to capture a diminutive example of a four-passenger Smart ForTwo. The 1:4 scale model clearly wears an extra set of doors and the wheelbase, if scaled up to full-size, is also longer than current Smart ...

Spy Shots: Smart ForTwo+2 in the works? 1259693940
Smart, the German-born automaker that revived the stagnant microcar market in the first place, has seen itself fall behind in the city car wars with Toyota's oh-so-clever iQ taking the top spot with its extra space for passengers and packages via its brilliant layout. What's more, new machines are on the way from BMW (the long-rumored Isetta revival) and ...

But before the Smart Roadster and ForFour were sent off ...

For at about the last six months there have been at least four Peugeot 107s running around in the vicinity of Livonia and Ann Arbor, MI with manufacturer plates. Since Peugeot doesn't sell their products in the United States, it was unclear why they were here. It turns out the 107, along with its stablemate the Citroen C1, are built as part of a joint ...

Spy Shots: New fortwo loses its roof, touched by the hand of Brabus 1166822520
Smart has announced, yet again, that they'll be debuting their new fortwo in Detroit next month. Our heart rate remains... unchanged. And word that a cabrio version of DC's city car is on its way doesn't come as much of a surprise either. However, what does escalate our pulse is the possibility of Brabus hotting-up the fortwo with a 110 HP motor that would ...

Spy Photos: SMART ForTwo 1150563960
For those of you following the saga of SMART's progress towards infiltrating the U.S. more closely than the NBA Finals, these spy shots are for you. The soft-top Cabriolet and City Coupe pictured show that SMART's here to stay, at least for now. Refreshed head and tail lamps, a pedestrian-friendy nose, new and more aerodynamic mirrors, and door handles ...

DaimlerChrysler "leaning toward" launching Smart in the U.S. 1149609720
Those were the less-than decisive words of DaimlerChrysler Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche in a newspaper interview published Sunday in Germany. The final decision is expected later this month, but it looks like the two-seater Smart may indeed take a shot at the U.S. market, in the guise of the redesigned 2007 model. Just in time, the ever-vigilant ...
