Review: 2008 Saturn Vue Red Line

The introduction of the 2008 Saturn Vue is the latest element of the Saturn's ongoing product overhaul. In the wake of the Sky, Aura, and Outlook, we had high expectations for the all-new Vue. Gone are the outgoing model's clunky styling, cheesy faux grille, plastacular body panels and ho-hum street presence. In its place, we're given a smart-looking, well-packaged Opel Antara clone that's positioned as an obvious step up from its predecessor. Sure, the old Vue had some things going for it -- after its last facelift it had a decent-looking interior, and despite its outward visual... Read More

Saturn Vue Two-Mode hybrid delayed a few months
    1226699340

We've been eagerly anticipating the launch of the two-mode hybrid version of the Saturn Vue but it now appears we'll have to wait a little longer. The Vue marks the first implementation of GM's two-mode hybrid in a smaller, more reasonably-sized vehicle. The existing mild hybrid Vue has always been considered something of a disappointment to people ...

More on the delay of the plug-in Saturn Vue hybrid
    1226362800

The other day we mentioned that it looked like the plug-in hybrid version of the Saturn Vue had been delayed as result of GM's current financial calamity. GM spokesman Brian Corbett gave ABG the following update about the status of the PHEV Vue program. "Our original statement said that production would begin 'as soon as 2010' because we did not want to ...

We attended the New York-area "GM Collection" event this week, which is basically an opportunity for journalists to drive a variety of 2009 models up at Bear Mountain, an hour or so outside Manhattan. What we didn't know going in was that GM would bring along three production-spec examples of the '09 Saturn Vue 2 Mode Hybrid, and that this would be the ...

During the recent Plug-in conference in San Jose CA, Matt Kelly of GMNext talked with Larry Nitz about the new PHEV version of the Saturn Vue. Saturn drops Green Line name from hybrids
    1213208940

The Saturn Green Line is no longer. In its stead, the planetary brand's hybrid models will simply be known as hybrids. We think this is a good idea considering that the word 'hybrid' is much more readily associated with saving gas than the Green Line moniker. According to Mike Morrissey, a Saturn spokesman, "It was simply a practical matter. As we expand ...

That sounds like an apt description of the merry-go-round that is the Chevrolet Volt, especially when pricing and delivery date are concerned. $2.3 million VUE would get GM back in black in a hurry
    1210938900

Typos...they happen. Sometimes, however, they're pretty funny and this is one of those times. Saturn of Oxford Valley, a Pennsylvania dealer, has apparently (and unwittingly) decided to either lead the GM mothership into a new profit renaissance or set a new standard for dealer markups, as this listing for a 2008 Saturn Vue XE suggests. We like the new ...

It is tough to keep up a winning streak, as Saturn may soon realize. After boasting a 12.6-percent increase in retail sales, and average transaction prices up by $7,000 compared to the previous year, GM expects their Saturn division to continue their growth for the next five years. It most likely won't be that easy. Last year, Saturn presented an entirely ...
