Saab Spy Shots
Saab is a Swedish brand of luxury vehicles. It was the only non-core brand that General Motors was able to sell rather than shut down after emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July 2009. Founded in 1944, the company has roots in the Swedish aerospace industry building planes for the Swedish air force. Unfortunately, after a tumultuous few years and many owners, Saab formally went through bankruptcy and what remained was sold to National Electric Vehicle Sweden in 2012.

0Spy Shots: Are you the next Saab 9-3? 1320080220
Assuming the Chinese government approves the sale of Saab to the Pang Da and Youngman companies (a very big "if," truth be told), the Swedish automaker could indeed have a bright future... in time. With the new 9-5 and 9-4X not in need of any dire updates just yet, it'd be smart for Saab to focus on reworking its biggest volume offering, the aged 9-3. And ...

Spy Shots: Saab 9-3 convertible mule spotted winter testing 1300892460
Saab is finally starting to roll out its newest products, including the 9-5 sedan and the new-for-2011 9-4X crossover, but the Swedish automaker has yet to kick sales into high gear. That could change when next generation of the brand's highest volume model, the 9-3, hits the market. Despite a refresh for 2011, Saab's entry-level sedan will receive big ...

Spy Shots: Saab 9-4X leaks out ahead of production debut 1285716240
Now that the fate of Saab is in the hands of Spyker Cars, future product plans seem to be moving right along. The new 9-5 is out on the road and the 9-4X crossover is scheduled to make its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show this November. Our friends at Saabs United managed to snag some shots of a pre-production 9-4X, giving us a glimpse of the ...

Spy Shots: Saab 9-4X caught nearly uncloaked 1277156460
Judging by the latest spy pics, it looks like the Saab 9-4x is fully baked and ready to hit the streets. Saab has stripped the camo off the integration prototypes for the new 9-4x crossover and it doesn't appear to have changed much since the original concept debuted at the Detroit Auto Show two years ago. AutoExpress reports that production has begun ...

Saab 9-5 Estate leaks out 1272319140
For many moons now, your humble Autoblog crew has been following the new Saab 9-5 around the globe. Not intentionally mind you, but it seems that Saab has been dragging their 9-5 show car out to every show we've covered since before Obama was elected. Which is many, many shows (turns out it's been since Frankfurt). And while we're big boosters of the new ...

CAR takes a hack at rendering Muller's Saab 9-2 drawing for themselves 1270845000
With word that Saab wants to do battle with Mini in the quirky compact segment, the web has exploded with renderings of what the tiny Swedish machine could look like. CAR is the latest publication to try its hand at imagining the face of a new-world 9-2, and has been so kind as to share its take with the rest of the world. Supposedly, Spyker CEO Victor ...

Saab planning XWD-equipped 9-5X wagon? 1270506660
As you may have guessed by now, we're very excited over the prospect of a reinViggenated reinvigorated Saab. Our thinking is, now that Trollhattan is free of General Motors, it will get back to the business of making niche three- and five-door hatches coveted by post-grad Ivy League types with mega-potent turbos blowing into longitudinal, slanty I-4s ...

Spy Shots: Engineers still testing Saab 9-5 SportCombi, should somebody tell them? 1263947040
We know automakers like to test prototypes in remote, freezing locations to ensure that they'll start and run properly when sold to a family of five in Buffalo, New York. Perhaps these Saab engineers are in such a remote corner of Sweden that they haven't heard the mothership has crashed. While Saab's future is still undecided, hope seems to dwindle by ...

Spy Shots: Koenigsegg to rebadge Saabs in its own image? Not so much 1254834000
How much does it take to turn a Saab into a Koenigsegg? The half-billion dollars in funding the niche automaker is locking down to acquire the erstwhile General Motors subsidiary? The million euros one of its supercars sells for? How about 116 kronor? That amounts to about $16.50, and it's how much one local motorist has paid to slap the Koenigsegg name ...

Pics Aplenty: Saab shows off its 9-5 in full high-res glory 1248809340
It didn't take long for the floodgates of official pictures to open after the first set of leaked images gave us an early glimpse at the new 2010 Saab 9-5 inside and out. Just as before, we're cautiously optimistic that this attractive sedan (though it's appearance is certainly polarizing to many) will look as good in the flesh as it does in pictures. In ...
