The ford explorer doesn't even sell anymore, who's going to buy into this?

Waste of money, this entire project could have been spent on an alternative vehicle, EV, city car project, to win the MPG race, instead of the many incentives they will need to pass this POS off to consumers.

American Electric Power says grid ready for PHEVs {Autoblog Green}

Jul 16th 2008 10:35PM Of course it is!
If we plug in instead of use gas, will will SAVE electricity.

It takes the energy to run a Tesla 200+ miles, just to refine ONE gallon of gasoline!!!

So pluggin in will not use gas AND save electricity.

Its crazy politicians won't admit the facts!

This pretty much killed the auto industry today, due to increased Big-Oil profits.

This program actually inspired Toyota and Honda to make Hybrids, because they knew the Americans would dominate if they didn't.

Tax breaks for Tesla, Model S sedan to get 225 miles, cost $60k {Autoblog Green}

Jul 1st 2008 10:17PM 225 Miles, is about the same electricity to ONLY produce 1 gallon of gas, JUST TO REFINE IT.

Think about it!
Use NO gas AND save electricity buy charging this car on the grid!!!

Automakers say new CAFE standards will cost 82,000 jobs {Autoblog}

Jul 1st 2008 10:04PM Are we talking about Jobs in Oil companies?

Are we talking about the Saudi's losing jobs?

The Big 3 is losing more than that right now, but not willingly comply to the 35 MPG standard NOW.
If they did NOW, they would lead the sales that Honda is now stealing because they didn't produce efficient cars.

So the not-so-Big 3 has dug their own grave.

Idiots!!

Tesla confirms Model S sedan, 225-mile range and $60k {Autoblog}

Jun 30th 2008 7:28PM 225 Miles?

Why do people think that is low?
How many people have driven that in the last month or more?

Its at a premium to stimulate the industry, as Lexus, BMW, Merc, and everyone else in the luxury segment will scramble to have the green cred luxury of Tesla, bringing battery price down, and increased demand, as gas prices hit 6$ for no valid reason.

Good for Tesla.
And yes 225 gas free miles will sell much better than something like a same-priced H2 which gets 12 MPG

Change is good!

Chrysler lowballs price of its SUV hybrids, starting at $45,340 {Autoblog}

Jun 17th 2008 7:13PM What a sad entry into the Hybrid market, 10 years after the promising ESX program, this is the best they can do?

Why do they still produce the Asspen?
or the Durango?
