GM having problems with Cobasys batteries in mild hybrids {Autoblog Green}
Jun 3rd 2008 10:43AM I disagree with scuttling this project. I think GM is looking at this as a way to move the technology into mass production, which can be done without major modifications to a vehicles drivetrain. Even a small percentage increase in economy across a larger percentage of vehicles is a step in the right direction, and will have a bigger impact than a train full of Priuses. This system is due for an update in 2010, which will further improve overall fuel economy.
Solving Michigan's decrepit roads by going back to gravel? {Autoblog}
Mar 26th 2008 11:40AM I've lived in both Michigan and Pennsylvania. The roads in Michigan are far worse. Michigan could take a cue from PA and do a tar and chip in lieu of gravel. Once every couple years a asphalt truck sprays a layer of liquid tar on the existing road and another truck follows directly behind with crushed limestone. It creates a suprisingly solid road surface, if it is a little loud. I think some areas in Indiana do this too.
2007 big year for Pontiac Aztek: 25 sold {Autoblog}
Jan 18th 2008 9:59AM I own a 2002 Aztek which I bought new. At 90K miles, my intake manifold gaskets failed. I replaced them and the head gaskets myself, and GM ponied up and paid for my parts, even at 54K miles past the end of the warranty period. Other than that, I have had NO trouble with my Aztek, and not a moment of buyer's remorse. It is a wonderfully functional vehicle.

Chrysler, Ford topping the list of fleet sales {Autoblog}
Jun 25th 2007 10:40AM Why is selling fleet cars such a bad thing? I understand margins are very low, but somebody has to sell fleet vehicles, don't they?
