Jul 21st 2008 6:13PM There aren't many light midsize cars anymore. Electronics, airbags, crash safety...Without the use of exotic materials like carbon fiber it's gonna be hard to keep weight down where it was 10-15 years ago. Even the Camry weighs in at over 3500lbs.

Jul 20th 2008 5:58PM Well the '98 Camaro had only 200HP, and although it weighed alot less, it still managed to run low 15's. So maybe 13 sec 1/4 mile times aren't as easily attainable as I previously thought, but I still think it should run in the 14's. At least it's got 6 speed trannies going for it.

Jul 19th 2008 6:27PM Offering a V8 with as much power as the V6 puts out seems a little....strange. The base model oughta be a low 14 second car. A K&N, catback, and comp tune will put you in the 13's running with Stang GT's. The base model could end up being a great, new age, Chevy version of the GNX...If you get my akward train of thought.
Too bad the Stang weighs over 300lbs less. The Camaro is porky, but it's not as bad as I thought it would be.

Jul 14th 2008 6:11PM My BB Curve has a 2MP camera, voice guided GPS and auto re-routing. The screen doesn't smudge every time you use it either. Looks like I made the right choice.

Apr 3rd 2008 4:15PM I'm all for a 300HP base Camaro. The torque and HP numbers of the turbo 4 cyl mill are already equal, so a 300HP version with 295+ TQ will motivate a 4000lb car quite nicely. We are talking base engine here guys. That should put an entry level Camaro pretty squarely in the 14's. I'd guesstimate it also would return around 18mpg driven properly. It wouldn't shock me to see those engines putting out 350HP and equal torque with a computer tune, intake, and exhaust.
