Lexus planning a dedicated hybrid model {Autoblog}
Jun 28th 2007 9:05PM I'm not sure that Lexus plans to sell a hybrid only model for less than its existing lineup. I'm sure it will carry a premium price tag.
I'm pretty sure that the price is autoblog's opinion and the last paragraph should start with " I EXPECT...."

Spy Vid: Lexus LF-A {Autoblog}
Jun 26th 2007 9:26PM You guys have no idea what you are talking about. The NSX redefined the supercar and Lexus redefined the luxury with the ls400 in the late 80s. Probably the reason why your mercs/audis/bmws/ferraris etc are more reliable now. This car has been in gestation for a long time and i have no doubt that it will be awesome. I own 2 lexuses and traded and audi for one of them. I got tired of pulling over for false warning lights and visiting the dealer on my days off. The lexus might not ultimately handle as well but they do offer a more comfortable passenger ride.
As far as the looks, i'm sure my any car would look just as plain if it was covered in masking tape. All I know is that the 2 concepts looked gorgeous and i'm sure the production version won't let down.
Aw Snap! No, really - 20 Tundra camshafts have snapped {Autoblog}
May 29th 2007 11:53AM Cowbell, I'm not ragging on the Fusion. It is actually a good car. American cars have gotten better.
In the commercial, which conveniently has been removed from youtube, the narrator says that the people preferred the v6 AWD to the 4 cylinder accord/camry. The C&D comparo was with v6 sedans though. It really is a tricky commercial. I was just disagreeing with the state of marketing and sales in this country.
Just for some perspective, in the UK politicians resign when they disagree with the gov't on moral grounds. In Japan, if a politician does something wrong and gets caught they commit suicide. In the US politicians deny things through their teeth and when they're caught they invoke God and seek forgiveness instead of stepping down. There really is no honor here and it makes me sad.

May 29th 2007 9:48AM Nobody is making excuses for Toyota. OBJECTIVELY, Toyota makes the best cars out there. Notice that this is a statement is based on facts presented in various surveys and studies (j.d. power, wards, etc).
Remember, its easy for a V6, AWD, leather covered Ford Fusion to beat a base I4 Camry and Accord in a comparison test. I guess American car companys haven't forgotten that we are stupid.
BTW, Iacocca, in his interview with Charlie Rose, basically said that American cars were great and the problem was that DEALERS weren't slinging their shit fast enough. When I used to sit in on sales meetings for a former employer, I used to get the same criticism. They used to tell me its not what people want or need, its how much you can sell to them.
A Corvette sedan? Lutz not opposed to the idea {Autoblog}
May 20th 2007 6:44PM This is off topic but I just heard Bob Lutz on NPR's Wait, wait, don't tell me. I realized then why domestic car makers suffer. He struck me as a someone who just doesn't get it, period. Not only did he refuse to play along in their weekly ritual of a fun, three question quiz, but debated the veracity of 'lacrosse' as slang. It might not be part of you 77 year old vernacular, Bob, but just because they didn't use it in the post World War II French brothels you frequented doesn't make it less true.
GM's cars may be good, but everyone elses seems to be better. Not very 'foward thinking'. I guess you weren't much of student because you'd settle for a D, while everyone else gets A's and B's.
Cerberus buying Chrysler for $7.4 billion {Autoblog}
May 14th 2007 10:53AM Let me clarify this post. 80.1% of Chrysler will be held by Cerebus as Chrysler Holdings LLC. 19.9% will remain with Daimler AG. The 80.1% ownership will make Chrysler the largest privately owned automaker.
Venture capitalist NEVER take long term positions. This is a move to free Chrysler of its liabilities. Think something similiar to what Nicolas Smolenski of TVR did. Sucks to be an autoworker now, at least greater unemployment will reduce inflation....

The new Range Rover: Coming with aluminum! {Autoblog}
May 11th 2007 1:19PM Corrision shouldn't be a problem. Most cars made today are basically disposable and luxury car owners rarely keep their cars more than 2-3 years. Its the suckers who'll buy a used Range Rover that'll get screwed...
Transforgasm: Michael Bay releases high-res art of eight Transformers {Autoblog}
May 11th 2007 7:57AM These are not anything like the transformers of the 80s, so what are they?. They look like some homoerotic, maschocistic, anime interpretation. I bet who ever designed them must think they're mighty impressive.
How are the toys supposed to transform? BTW GM, these are not going to help you sell cars.....
