May 12th 2008 10:24PM I believe the headlight units will actually consist of 2 seperate parts each. Much like the current generation has the quad oval lamps, this will have quad squares. And it will definitely set it apart from the rest. Not to mention the new rear end of which hints can also be found on the new crosshatch concept.
Rendered Speculation: Is it SHOtime for the next Ford Taurus? {Autoblog}
May 8th 2008 10:58AM That's an extremely bad photoshop mash up between an A4 and a Mondeo. The grainy cell phone pic has a more pronounced front facia with narrower headlamps. Ignoring that, I dont think the chrome and mesh grille from the Mondeo would blow over to the US. If this design were accurate, you'd be better off just bringing over the Euro Mondeo with ST version.

Apr 10th 2008 11:47PM The tires the GT-R ran on were street legal. Mind that the ring is actually a piece of public road these days, not a closed track anymore. Road legal tires are mandatory on and around the circuit.

Apr 10th 2008 11:08PM You make me laugh. In Europe, and Asia, the Corvette is seen as extremely tacky. Need I refer you to Top Gear? I dont know if your view is confined to just yourself, or others in the US aswell, but the corvette is by no means an attractive car. It's almost a straight wedge shape with a roof tacked on and the lights are an afterthought.
The GTR isnt necessarily pretty either, but it is unorthodox and has actual features that define the car.

Apr 10th 2008 10:03PM That's a lot of words for saying the ZR1 is more comfortable.

Apr 10th 2008 8:20PM I just hope this shuts up the people that normally barge into unrelated topics with "the corvette would...". Yes, with 7:40 its fast, but not AS fast as you like people to believe.

Apr 7th 2008 11:28PM I usually like speculations, but this is a bit too much. It's more of a fantasy than a possibility. It would chop into the sales of the C and E, IF it were popular. The CLS is positioned above the E and has no in-brand competition.
I agree that the model naming has become a bit too much lately, but I feel it's more because of the multitude of models rather than the naming. Same goes for BMW though.
VIDEO: CGI be damned! Inside the BMW M3's V8 {Autoblog}
Apr 7th 2008 11:19PM This is one of those cases where you give em props for not doing it CGI and keeping it real, but then realise at the same time CGI could've produced prettier and more accurate pictures.
I'm not a fan of the new V8, but if they destroyed 3 engines to make this commercial, that's a bit of a waste. Could've shipped me the engines and I'd do it CGI.

Apr 7th 2008 12:17PM Looks like it'll be a nice battle between the new generation Porsches and the GTR V-Spec. Should be fun.
What worries me as a car enthousiast though, is, how much faster can it really get? Not much, probably.
Next generation BMW Z4 to get folding hard top, possibly M3's V8 {Autoblog}
Apr 7th 2008 12:12PM You just cant ever leave it do you. Every single time someone has to mention the 'vette. Here's a clue, noone outside of the US even gives a crap about the thing. And better yet, pretty much all the cars in your list will outperform the Z06, providing the SLK is the black edition.
The corvette isnt a 'real' sports car, it's got leaf springs for god's sake. The only type of vehicle to use leaf springs these days are trucks.
As for the Z4, the picture's obviously a photoshop, so lookswise we'll have to see. I dont think they're making the right move by putting on a folding hard top or a V8. The little character the car had will be lost this way.
