VIDEO: Web Rides TV pits the Audi R8 against the LS3 Corvette {Autoblog}
Jul 14th 2008 8:16PM 1.4 second difference on a lap that's under 50 seconds? I'm gonna chalk that one up to the driver. No doubt the R8 is easier to drive.

Jul 11th 2008 4:47PM "Micro hybrid"? How long before someone tells them they can't call it that because there's nothing hybrid about it. That's just false advertising.
Though cool to see the car getting more fuel efficient. Still has a way to go to meet most people's expectations for a car that small, but any improvement is nice.

Jul 10th 2008 4:26PM Performance is a good excuse for driving stick to give to folks that don't know the joy of manually operating a gearbox. /Why do you want to work harder?/ /Easy answer, better performance and gas mileage./
But for most stick shift enthusiasts, it's about much more than that. The control and involvement in driving a stick shift car won't be matched by automatics, not even really fast automatics with flappy paddle gearboxes. Stick shift manuals may no longer hold the performance advantage over automatics (sort of inevitable with the progression of technology), but I'll always prefer them.

May 16th 2008 3:53PM Farris, I checked Craigslist every day for about a month and saw many good conditioned 250s for $2,500 (some lower). You're right that a lot of people think they're worth used what they paid new, but they're crazy. The bike's resale value is excellent, but not impervious.
And Joe T, a Ninja 250 only barely qualifies as a crotch rocket. A lot of times, people buy them as beginner bikes, put on 500-1,000 miles and decide they want a 600cc 'cause now they're expert riders.

May 16th 2008 2:55PM Buy motorcycles, people! A gently used Ninja 250 will run you $2,500, get 55-65 mpg, and will actually be able to get out of its own way.
