A Surprise Character In 'X-Men Origins: Magneto'? {Cinematical}

May 14th 2008 9:57AM This also lends itself to a continuity problem.

In the first X-men (events which is supposed occur after these prequels) there is a scene where Wolverine enters a bar and glaces at a television. On the television is Hank McCoy (beast) giving an interview. He looked the way he appeared before completeing his mutation which is like a regular human...with glasses.

This is kind of annoying news.

From the Awesome Files: V6 Miata auto-x weapon {Autoblog}

May 11th 2008 3:33PM I'd disagree.

If you figure a 20% drivetrain loss, the engine is probably making 216hp itself, today's V6 Sonatas make 238hp. Also keep in mind that it is a 2.5 liter, Nissan makes 4-pots that are that big and this motor is normally found in Mazda MX-6s and Mazda 626s, so we're talking circa 1995 state of the art, so 200hp would be par.

So as a result 200+hp in something as light as '92 Miata would be something to worry about in an Autocross.

May 11th 2008 3:17PM This guy's inspired. I'd be intrested to know how much that motor weighs.

May 9th 2008 1:50PM One more thing. I think you're just being polemic. Everything I'm hearing from this is that it is enjoyable.

Review: Speed Racer -- Scott's Take {Cinematical}

May 9th 2008 1:47PM "...unrealistic, and astronomically cartoonish approach to cars and racing..."

Two things.

First, "The Fast & the Furious" wasn't anything if it wasn't an "unrealistic, and astronomically cartoonish approach to cars and racing". Let's be serious, that movie had a 1/4 drag race that went on for 5 minutes and the cars had paint jobs that would qualify them as extras on "Speed Racer"

Second. Did you watch the Speed Racer cartoon/Anime? The car would mow down a forrest with a pair of rotary saws that extended from a place where its radiator would be and then jump to the bottom of an ocean after a water proof glass canopy extend from out of nowhere. Oh, and the car would still run...underwater. Last time I remember the combustion engine runs on oxygen and gasoline.

I don't know what it is exactly you expected of this movie, but you expected too much of it.

Cinematical Seven: When an Animated Series Goes Live Action ... and Gets it Right {Cinematical}

May 9th 2008 10:33AM Transformers, like nearly every Bay "film", was a GM commercial. They only character they got right was Optimus. Everything else was a showcase of what is selling at your local GM delear.

Case in point: Jazz was a Martini & Rossi Porsche 959 race car in the original source material. How do you go from that to a bleeding Pontiac Solstice?
