Apr 25th 2007 2:03PM there only so much torque you can get out of certain displacement. People rag on the torque output of S2000, but it's a 2L engine for gods sake. People are ragging on the new M3 because of its "paltry" 295lb ft of torque. But it has only 4L displacement.
Anyway since this is a 5L engine, it should easily surpass the M5's torque output. I will pin it around 395.

There goes the it has less power and more weight so it must be slower around the track theory.
Let's look at the C6 Z06 vs Z-Tune

Z06 is not fast enough to pass the Z-tune and in the time attack the Z-tune beats the Z06.
According to these performances the new GT-R will beat the new vette and the new Ztune will beat the new Z06. That is all.

Apr 25th 2007 5:52AM The current 997 porsche is faster around the ring than the Z06. The new GT-R is designed to be faster than the 997. Surely that means it's going to be faster than the Z06. You people just can't accept that simple fact.
As for the next supercharged Z06, the next Nismo Z-tune has it all covered.

Apr 24th 2007 12:23PM Ariel Atom, powered by a Japanese engine, Radical SR8 powered by a Japanese engine. These will crap all over your American cars.
You might say they are track machines and are hard to live with on the road. But you can use the same argument with Corvette and Ferrari. The reason Ferraris are expensive is because they are a better package. For pure performance per buck there are better values than the corvette and none of them are American. If you bring in the subjective issues like living with it and stuff then the logic can be used to show that bugatti veyron is a better value than a 911GT2.
