May 13th 2008 9:43PM I think this car is awful, but I'd be the first in line to buy the actual new focus if it were sold here.

May 13th 2008 9:39PM LOL -- I enjoy your rule! By proclamation of Autoblog, lets unite and mandate: "WITH THY RAGING DYNO, THY MELTING RUBBER, THY UNABILITY TO TRAVERSE A SPEEDBUMP. ONLY HE MAY BECOME AND POSSESS TWO DOORS IN THE STEAD OF FOUR."
Officially Official: New Ferrari California exposed! {Autoblog}
May 13th 2008 10:56AM www.ferraricalifornia.com is the website this article refers to and it has a bunch of sound clips of the car. You can hear some very ridiculously amazing shift times from the dual clutch in the second clip.
VW Rabbit gets a carrot from Consumer Reports {Autoblog}
May 12th 2008 10:57AM Just to point out another way of looking at it... What was VW's biggest complaint in the US? Reliability. The 2.5 was designed specifically to address this fact. Its proven to be a very reliable motor so far, which makes it probably the biggest reason the Rabbit is on the top of this list. Its no revolutionary motor, and if VW had more foresight, they would have made it an I4, but regardless, it's been the MVP of VWoA's game in America.

May 12th 2008 10:47AM That's kind of what I was trying to point out. The ride of the Mazda3 is very similar to the euro focus, but a lot of the other parts are different. One of the things that gets me about the 3 compared to the Rabbit and the Focus is that its sheetmetal and interior veneer seem thin and cheap comparatively. The Focus is that much better than the 3... Plus, I think the Focus' exterior design plain rocks.

May 11th 2008 4:18PM I totally didn't explain how that connected... sorry. I like the Mazda3 better than any other small car I've driven other than the Rabbit, but I did like the Euro focus much more than the Mazda3.

May 11th 2008 4:10PM The 2.5 notoriously doesn't have any mechanical trouble eeeevvvvaaaar. Its simple, its robust. That's why its in America. Americans like that kind of thing. -- VW ignoring that is why VW hasn't been popular for some time (if you don't remember).

May 11th 2008 3:45PM Though its segment was included in this list, the Versa is actually one segment down from the Rabbit. I've spent some time around a Renault Clio, which is based off the same soup as the Versa, and it wasn't so great. I'd hand it to Nissan to prepare a better car than Renault, but I still bet it wouldn't match up to the Rabbit. -- At that, I've seen a couple reviews comparing the Honda Fit to the Versa, and they usually narrowly ranked the Fit better. ...The Fit isn't very high on this CR list (though its probably much more practical than a Rabbit).
