Hartley Enterprises' Haybusa-derived 2.8L V8 {Autoblog}
May 19th 2007 7:50PM I'm wondering if this would fit in a Lotus Elise/Exige. I think that might be about the limit weight-wise. Can you imagine that car with double the power? You pretty much have to put it in something extremely lightweight to have something special due to the relatively low torque figures. I gotta say, though, that's gotta be one of the sweetest sounding engines I've ever heard when they're winding it out on the dyno.
Chickering Lane, Estate of the Day {Luxist}
May 4th 2007 4:54PM I agree. Let's just see the self-appointed "taste police" deride this one as being a case of more money than class. I hate haters.
Rosemary Beach, Estate of the Day {Luxist}
May 1st 2007 7:00PM Rosemary Beach is a great development on what I think is America's best beach. HGTV gave away a house in Rosemary several years ago, though it was on the other side of the highway from the beach. My sister has a beach house within a stone's throw of this one. This whole area sits just high enough on a beach cliff that storm surges from hurricanes are never a worry. The beaches are white sugar sand and the water is almost always a beautiful blue-green. There are always plenty of properties available in Rosemary with beachfronts starting at a little over $3M. There are definitely others that are prettier and nicer than this one.
Follow Up: More on the 2008 Chevy Corvette LS3 {Autoblog}
May 1st 2007 6:41PM The press release says something about all Corvettes getting a new dash treatment that looks like leather, even if you don't get the two-tone leather option. That's what I want to see, as both of these color options are really ugly. My problem with the Corvette interior has never been so much with the dash materials, though they're not great, as with the low-rent design of the center control panel. It has no trace of style.
MyJets Fractional Seat Ownership {Luxist}
Apr 24th 2007 4:48PM I gotta tell ya, their website looks completely fake. I don't know how comfortable I'd be with giving these guys 40K up front. All the pictures are lifted from plane manufacturers websites.
Piney Point Village, Estate of the Day {Luxist}
Apr 19th 2007 6:54PM This estate is very well decorated. It may be more ornate than some would prefer, but it is very tasteful. These people weren't going for "homey", these are extremely wealthy people and they were going for "lap of luxury". Well done, I say. It's absolutely gorgeous.
