May 7th 2008 2:42PM A few years back I did an article for my science class; It was titled "THE BIRTH AND THE INEVITABLE RE-BIRTH OF THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE." In the years since I did this piece technology has grown by leaps and bounds and today there's a battery on the market that will permit an electric vehicle to travel 250 miles without recharging, then if the oil companies do their job at every Service Station there will be a "CHARGING FACILITY" that will be plugged in to re-charge the batteries in 5-10 minutes (that's right, the new battery the Japanese have developed will be fully charged in 5-10 minutes,) there's a meter on the plug that records the amount of electric power you use and that's what you're charged for! (shades of the old gas pump) of course it's not a LEAD ACID battery, it's a LITHIUM battery but, there;s another battery with 10 times the duration of the lithium, it's called the NANOWIRE BATTERY! (wow 10 times the duration) Most of the time on a regular trip we stop and stretch or legs around 200-250 miles so, you see, while were recharging the body the car is being refueled and ready for another 200-250 miles!

Even though I can't ride any more (the old hands just won't grip the 1/4 turn, even with a pencil pushed between the rubber and the metal on the underside, old "Arthur" got me about 4 years ago) I still want to keep up with my favorite bike! They're just beginning to develop a family sedan that will equal or almost equal the bios on the TESLA ROADSTER; 250 mile range and recharge of the new batteries they're going to use will be 5 minutes! Top speed 125 mph of course if you drive the normal speed you could get up to 300 mpc!I'm looking into the ROADSTER since i've already raised 8, one son died a year ago of a massive heart attack! After training them myself I turned them out to the world! they're all including three girls qualified mechanics and one girl a Champion Drag Racer in NHRA under her married name, Peggy Burns!

Mar 12th 2008 7:05PM In 1950 I had 4 brand new Goodyear 6:50 X 16 w/w tires put on my 1940 Chrysler Windsor Convertable and my girlfriend and I with another couple headed for Tijuana, Mexico for the Jai Alai games and the Bull fights! On the way home to North Hollywood the left front tread seperated and flew off causing the car to go into a 360 spin and crash into a tree! the injuries included a broken ankle for my buddy and I was so battered (my head was against the left window which hit the tree)the Highway Patrolman pronounced me dead! A lady standing there saw me move and heard me moan and told the other Patrolman and he called another ambulance for me! The first patrolman got 30 days off without pay for playing doctor and GOD! I ended up with a blind left eye and 5 fractures in my skull! Goodyear wouldn't accept any responsibilty for the accident and called it an act of GOD! They did give me a new tire which I took along with the other three after cutting the bead to where I bought them and dropped them in the managers office! My father had told him about the accident and he offered me a set of Firestone which I accepted and had mounted on the wheels since I was repairing my car and put them on after I got done with it! NO GOODYEAR ON ANYTHING I OWN OR ANYBODY ELSES i KNOW! THEY BUILD JUNK AND TONY WAS RIGHT WHEN HE SAID, "IF YOU WRITE A BIG CHECK TO NASCAR YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT!"

I did see a replay of the two Dodges winning the Daytona 500! they had to work for it! they'll have to really be up for the Cailfornia race Sunday! Jeff gordon and Jr. will be running the experimental engines Nascar just turns their back on during regular inspections!

Feb 19th 2008 1:37AM Lee D; # 1. if you knew anything about the writing, production, and actual shooting something like "Knight Rider" you would take it for what it's worth, entertainment! i'm 78 years old and when the original "Knight Rider " was on the small tube all 6 of my kids and my wife and I waited for it to come on! About 20-25 years ago they had "KITT" at one of the gun shows in our area and my youngest son had his picture taken setting in the drivers seat! That picture hung on his bedroom wall till he got married and moved out! Today it hangs on his 9 year old sons bedroom wall and he never fails to show it to anybody who hasn't seen it! I write tv and screen scripts for some producers and I can relate to the new "Knight Rider" scripts! My advice to you and all the others who complain "Give it a chance"! You didn't buy the first car you test drove did you? I'll bet you gave it a chance to show you what it could do!
