Apr 21st 2008 5:28PM Stay clear of Detroit?!! I stay in the inner city of Detroit and I feel insulted. People always say how bad Detroit, and it is not nearly as bad as people stay it is. Whoever blog have no idea what kind of city Detroit really is.

More New Yorkers get a taste of FiOS {Engadget HD}
Oct 17th 2007 5:57PM Yes your right most likely we going to up it to 30 megs over the copper portion in the next year or so. We had to do it this way until we start putting fiber to the house. New sub divisions that allowed us to put down fiber within the last 10 years already have the fiber to house or as we called FTTP (Fiber to the premise.) Putting this on copper twisted pair is just a temporarily solution. It is so much legal matter we have to go through to lay down fiber.

Oct 17th 2007 4:58PM We are able to push 20 Megs once to get to the copper 10 for the HD Channels 8 for internet and 2 for other. The bandwidth for the fiber part is almost unlimited over 250000 Megs per second the only bottle neck is the copper and the equipment.

Oct 17th 2007 4:29PM I work for at&t and we have U-Verse which is the same thing as FIOS. What we do so it’s available to everyone is do a FTTN (Fiber to the node) which is a box that is usually next to the telephone cross connection box. From that point of the node it changes into regular copper wire. That way it can be available to everyone in the area no matter how remote your home is. Currently we are working in south eastern Michigan and it’s going to take approximately 3 years for the whole state of Michigan to have this ground breaking service.
Xbox 360 Elite: new, black limited edition Xbox with HDMI and 120GB drive {Engadget}
Apr 3rd 2007 4:24PM For those people who say Xbox 360 Elite doesn't have a true 1080p output is wrong. The A/V connection of the current Xbox doesn't have true 1080p output that’s why they never came out with an HDMI adopter because it will be useless. Second any type of optical drive has a life span. You can watch movies if you want but it will shorten the life span of a console. At least with the 360 HD-DVD if you burn your drive out, you don't have to go buy a new Xbox. Game consoles should be game consoles not a super multimedia player. The more components you add the more it is acceptable of failure. Lastly our economy is not at are full strength right now. Therefore consumers are shopping smarter by saving money. Sony got too far ahead of themselves. Maybe if they would of drop the Blu-ray and just had it as an add-on that would of boost PS3 sales because the price would be more competitive than it is now.
