Considering its faster, more powerful, handles much, much, much better and has a boxer engine, a WRX would be about as close as you're going to get to a poor man's Porsche. Even an old MR2 would seem to be a better choice than the Focus.
Heck, look at Stig's time with the new 08 WRX STI and notice several Porches with slower lap times. Though, a 911 GT3 did manage to get a one second quicker lap time than the STI.
Not bad for a $100,000+ car, I guess...

Transformers Corvette concept shows some tush {Autoblog}
Jul 20th 2008 1:02PM I would say the current Corvette is one of the most bland blobs of American plastic I've ever seen in my 40 years of life on this Earth. And I LOVE Corvettes.
It is so cheap looking, so dated, disco and uninspired looking, I would not drive one if given to me. Can't find a decent angle on it for the life of me, and the rear of the car must be a joke. Looks like a child sculpted it out of clay. And I LOVE Corvettes.
The classic 'vettes are some of the most beautiful cars ever made. Every time I see a newer fleet-vette I look around for Hertz signs to make sure I'm not on a rental lot. The vette looks about as exciting as most other Chevys, i.e. rental car, i.e. about as exciting a design as a Cobalt.
So, I'm on the opposite fence as you. If they leave ANY cues from any of the more disco models, I will probably cry.

Yawn. You'd rank these as "boringest" or "ugliest"? (Except the Altima) With the Accord's interior/exterior, I don't see how you can put it anywhere on the list.
I'd prefer something fun to drive and the extra money for a Legacy GT would be worth it just so I don't have to drive any of the cars on your list.
And AWD FTW.
