First Drive: Saab Turbo X {Autoblog}

May 23rd 2008 4:15PM I am on my third SAAB, a 93 9000 CDE turbo, an 03 9-3 SS and an 07 60th anniversary 9-3 convertible. My 9-3's have been VERY reliable. So much so was my first 9-3 that I barely considered anything else for it replacement but another SAAB. My 03 needed a sunroof sensor, a headlight, a battery and the keys being re-coded in 48,000. My new one at 17,000 has been faultless. Dealer service in Dallas has been second to none and when the time comes, I will have another!

More speculation of Triumph return {Autoblog}

Oct 11th 2007 2:17PM Jaguar was never part of BMW's MG Rover. Ford has had them since the mid 80's or so.
Mini was part of MG Rover when it was purchased by BMW, as was Land Rover. Mini was a Rover model. They basically took the Mini name, made a new model, and dumped the rest of the company (Land Rover later than MG Rover.) BMW could have done MG the same way as Mini and dumped Rover. Hell, they could have brought MG over to the States like they had planned and MG Rover would still be in Western hands. They were just afraid an MG based on their new Z4 would bite into it's sales. Stupid logic as a sale of an MG or a Z4 would still be a sale for BMW as a whole. Now, I will never buy ANY BMW product period! Bitter? Maybe, as I have had a 1972 MGB for the last 26 years and would have been a BMW convert with a new MG, but now I am totally happy with SAAB instead.
Turan is most likely correct, it could be easily done in China...

More speculation of Triumph return {Autoblog}

Oct 11th 2007 1:43PM Why do this now? They could have done it with MG instead of dumping it in the garbage like they did. MG is 100 times more recognizable than Triumph ever was. I think they should leave well enough alone and not bring it back. Though it would be nostalgic to have a new Triumph with the reliability of the 7 Series. It would be so fitting!
