SEMA 2007: Chevy Silverado HD Crew Z71 "Big Red" {Autoblog}

Oct 29th 2007 1:02PM You do know how to scroll past these stories if you aren't interested, right?

I would have though that would be faster and a more efficeint use of time than posting an ignorant comment.

Ford aids California wildfire recovery effort (GM, Toyota, Honda and Chrysler too) {Autoblog}

Oct 26th 2007 3:26PM Quick question, where is all this money put to use? Does the red cross keep it all, or do they redistribute it?

Honda takes shot at Chevy Volt {Autoblog}

Oct 24th 2007 3:40PM Honda, and especially Toyota, are starting to sound more and more like the GM of old. 5 years ago this would have been GM talking about how wack Toyota and Honda's technology is.

Oct 24th 2007 3:38PM I think I now understand the tagline, "Tundra: The truck that's changing it all" .

It refers to how the Tundra is going to change the preception of Toyota's quality for years to come

Toyota hit hard by new Consumer Reports predicted reliability ratings {Autoblog}

Oct 16th 2007 2:55PM Alothough Toyota is slipping, and the domestics are gaining, Toyota is still one of the most reliable brands. GM, Ford and Chrysler still need to work hard and not sit on their hands thinking they accomplished something - there is still much work to be done.

However, this may help some people realize that their preception of reality is stuck in the 80's and 90's. Everytime I see somebody on this board say "domestics suck, the wheels fall off, blah, blah, blah" - I always say to myself, "that person doesn't get out much"

2008 Saturn Vue Green Line, 32 mpg highway for $24,795 {Autoblog}

Oct 12th 2007 11:19AM Ummm...I think a 5 mpg overall improvement with just a MILD hybrid system is pretty impressive. Not to mention this thing now gets better fuel economy than most compact cars. Think about it, an extra 5 mpg in a 19gallon tank gives you an extra 95 miles out of each tank for not a huge price premium. for some people, that might be an extra week of driving.

My only question is this: Why does the Aura Green Line suck so bad since it uses the same system and is 400 lbs lighter?

UAW strike against Chrysler begins {Autoblog}

Oct 10th 2007 12:07PM liDave,

Please educate yourself on this subject before posting.

Nobody is talking about slave wages, or even REDUCING wages for that matter. We are, however, talking about:

-Eliminating the jobs bank
-401K's, not pensions
-Competitive health care to SALARIED workers (oh, the humanity!)
-No inefficeint work rules
-No mandatory overtime
-No free life insurance, dental, etc.

What is so unreasonable about this?

Like I said, keep the $27/hr, that is not the problem.

Why should UAW workers get 2 to 3 times their market rate compensation for the manufacturing sector?

You blame management, but I think management is doing a pretty good job (especially GM) considering they have $1500 - $2000 PER VEHICLE disadvantage.

Tell me. How do you expect to compete with this type of disadvantage?
