GM to cut 1,000 jobs in Oshawa {Autoblog}

That is flat wrong.
Just watch how Toyota '08 sales will compare with '07 sales.

Legendary Toyota promoter, Jim Moran, dies as Toyota hits #1 {Autoblog}

Apr 27th 2007 1:39AM Here was someone with the courage to back the underdog against the seemingly impenetrable dominance of the Big 3. Hopefully, he died knowing that he succeeded in his goal.

Chrysler workers making long shot bid to buy automaker {Autoblog}

Apr 20th 2007 11:55PM Lithious,
I think you've gotten yourself a little too riled up there.

Most import fans aren't saying that they can take over Ford, GM, or Chrysler and fix all of their problems. They know that the UAW is a huge problem, and so they certainly don't claim to be able to step in and just get rid of the UAW. The UAW is just too entrenched.

Import fans are simply saying that Toyota makes better cars than the big three. Whether or not that's true is debatable, but it has nothing to do with personally fixing up the big 3.

First Subaru Camry rolls off the line in Indiana {Autoblog}

Apr 20th 2007 9:00PM "So, Toyota gets more Camrys to sell, Subaru earns money, the citizens of Lafayette, Indiana have 1,000 more jobs, and the owls at the Columbian Park Zoo win an upgrade to their exhibit."

Looks like a win-win-win-win (quadruple win) situation. Add in lower costs for the customers (supply and demand) and it's hard to see how this is anything but good news.

Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race results and gallery {Autoblog}

Apr 15th 2007 3:17PM This is a pretty neat idea. Get celebrities driving your cars to gain more exposure.

However, if one of those celebrities (think non-professional drivers) makes the wrong move and smashes their car/injures themselves, the publicity may not be so good after all.

Brembo lands Lexus IS-F brake deal {Autoblog}

Apr 14th 2007 12:27AM #19: Mike
Hey, you never know. The new Tundra is the second generation half-ton that Toyota has put out (counting the T100 as the first). You only have to look at several of the recent stories such as "Chevy dealers "mad as hell" - target Tundra with ads" to see how defensive the domestic makers are already about the new Tundra even just in its first months of sales.

Granted, with a 200k production goal this year, the new Tundra won't break any sales records or blow away the competition either. But in a couple of generations, they may succeed in the relentless "Toyota growth" they're known for and add the half-ton segment to the areas they dominate.

Brembo lands Lexus IS-F brake deal {Autoblog}

Apr 13th 2007 2:36PM The IS-F looks decent for a first try for Lexus. It's certainly not going to set any sales records or blow the competition away. But in a couple of generations, it may be another segment that Toyota ends up dominating.
