Villa d'Este 08 Preview: Carrozzeria Touring Maserati Quattroporte Bellagio Fastback {Autoblog}
Apr 22nd 2008 2:53PM Interesting, I'm not sure I like it but I'll never be able to afford on anyway.
However, my initial reaction was that it looks a lot like a 4-door Jensen Interceptor. So I went to take a look at some Jensen pictures and discovered that Jensen outsourced the design of the Interceptor to a third party. Who?
Carrozzeria Touring.
Bentley's new 1100-watt sound system, courtesy of Naim {Autoblog}
Feb 20th 2008 3:27PM Why is it that so many people who posts here think that they know more than anyone else?
@Vintage - Show me where you got your quote. I don't see it in either the Autoblog post or the Bentley press release. I see "will provide phenomenal sound quality", which has a completely different meaning than your mystery "better sound quality".
Do you not think it is possible that a company like Naim would have thought about what happens to the sound in the cabin of a car? Oh, look, apparently they did - "To achieve these ambitious targets, Naim began by undertaking the most advanced acoustic analysis of the cabin areas of every Bentley model – in both hard-top and convertible guise – in all road conditions." Now maybe you know something we don't, like they lied and didn't do all this work, if so please let us know.
There are some really knowledgeable people that post here, can we not let those people post so that they actually contribute something of value to this site and leave the ego posts and trolls to other sites?
The hundred gadget giveaway: round 28 {Engadget}
Sep 10th 2007 7:04PM Someone told me there was something else on the world-wide web thingy other than Engadget. I didn't believe them.
2007 Michigan Vintage VW festival: All the air cooling you can stand {Autoblog}
May 14th 2007 3:43PM Would it be possible for you guys to label some of the pictures? I'm no VW afficionado and it would be nice to know what I'm looking at (rather than, oh there another Karmann Ghia).
Which of the Big 3 is getting its "Freakonomics" on? {Autoblog}
May 1st 2007 7:37PM A lot of what is in this book is about taking everyday occurrences and pulling them together to find some form of commonality. While unscientific and completely open to interpretation it doesn't mean that it can't work.
I work in IT and everyone these days are trying to do the same thing. Take information from a number of disparate systems and find some kind of trend.
Why knock an auto manufacturer for looking outside the box? Even if the only conclusion they come to is that they need to focus on quality processes, cost accountability, and great design, it would be worth it no matter how they arrive at that conclusion.
At this point for either Ford or GM, what have they got to lose?
Latest BlackBerry OS confirms 8820 with WiFi {Engadget}
Feb 21st 2007 7:22PM I spoke with a RIM rep here in Canada about the WiFi on the 8800 and his response was two-fold. First, they hadn't yet gotten approvals from the necessary regulatory bodies but they still wanted to release it on schedule. Also, they are having battery issues with all of the radios that are in it plus WiFi. They battery life in the 802.11 equipped ones isn't yet up to what they would like it to be.
