Pics Aplenty: BMW M3 Convertible {Autoblog}

Apr 26th 2008 4:08PM The current M3 is an ugly sight. Normally, I would defer trust to designers at BMW but this time, they really accomplished a dubious feat: they ruined the guarded antagonistic look that made previous M3's so unique.

Now, all the M3 is is an alternative to the C63, the RS 4, and the peculiar IS F. As a matter of fact, the M3's design really isn't all that different from the IS F's.

No matter what you choose from, the coupe, the sedan, or this new cabrio, owning a new M3 really isn't as big of a deal as it was in the past, in my opinion.

Possible KITT reject? Wald Mercedes-Benz CL {Autoblog}

Dec 13th 2007 11:47PM Looks sick. Ridiculously well-done kit. Honestly, this version of the CL makes it out to be better than a Continental GT, in my opinion.

2009 Jaguar XF will range from $49,975 to $62,975 {Autoblog}

Nov 15th 2007 12:48AM It'll be tough for Jaguar. It really will because the pricing for this saloon, which is a predictable price range, is ambitious in the segment in which the XF competes in. Currently, Jaguar's prominent selling point, in my view, is the brand's supposed "uniqueness." But the XF's derivative, Lexus-like, design scheme coupled with the lack of aura around the whole brand will hurt the XF. It's just a given.

People who purchase passenger cars above $30,000 want to feel special in them...and I'm not convinced that Jaguar can beat out Mercedes' regal label nor BMW's prestige for sport.

Essen Motor Show preview: AC Schnitzer BMW E92 M3 {Autoblog}

Nov 10th 2007 2:00AM This...is an ugly sight. Let's have Mansory get a hold of the 3 coupe to really make it look serious.

Mulally says Ford in a "race against the clock" {Autoblog}

Nov 5th 2007 11:03AM This guy is no leader, no offense. Just look at him, he doesn't even command respect. And then he goes out and gives a couple quotes that don't help the company's position one bit.

I'll say this with honesty, the Ford line needs to market itself better. But not with cheesy adds and implications of "help us we're helpless." And that starts from the top. Because image is vital in the car industry and Ford, right now, doesn't have a favorable image, to put it lightly.

Spy Shots: 2009 Lincoln MKS spotted filming again {Autoblog}

Nov 4th 2007 11:13PM Are you people serious? This automobile is merely a derivative mixed with overly ambitious shiny metals. And that huge, currently uncool, Lincoln badge near the side of the front fender...how naive can one company get!?

The rear really is funny looking. For it does attempt to appear as though it's related to the Quattroporte, but it turns out looking like a KIA. And the front end tries way too hard to intimidate. The car is just plain man, in my opinion. Nothing more, nothing less.

Cramer on BloggingStocks: Fed has grounds to cut to zero {BloggingStocks}

Nov 2nd 2007 11:26PM Rates to 0? No...I don't see that happening. I really do believe that if we want to get out of this, we need the U.S. consumer to step up once again. Yes, the current state of the U.S. financial system is in question. But we are not going to solve problems created under the oversight of over-ambitious, and extremely wealthy, CEO's by toying with interest rates. Restoring consumer confidence is key. Temporarily enabling credit to those with average credit is key. And keeping rates above 1-2% is necessary just to get the former off of life support.

Will the Fed need to cut interest rates yet again? {BloggingStocks}

Oct 31st 2007 8:02PM Well, whether it was the right or wrong move fundamentally, the Fed really must've felt it did not have any choice but to further lower rates today. Consumer confidence is declining when the height of consumer activity is only a block away. Household names like Merrill Lynch are in shambles, stories of people losing there homes still persist, a woman got sued for downloading music files illegally...etc.

My fear currently stems from these cuts being, largely, psychological maneuvers...or so it would seem. We all realize that the concrete benefits from the cuts will be realized further down the road, but given today's indicators that the economy is steady while inflationary pressure is very real, I would not attempt to steer consumer spending (and hence our economy) by manipulating the rates any further.

Keeping the Enclave on boil - GM keeps a lid on production {Autoblog}

Oct 31st 2007 7:36PM Dude...they finally got it.

When I first saw the Enclave in person I came to the conclusion that it was one of the most enigmatic automobiles currently available. The car is a fat, morbidly obese, swath of curves and shiny metals. Yet, aside from that, its visible heft actually makes the car look planted and composed, especially from the rear...though it looks too similar to a Hyundai from that angle.

Bottomline, I can't believe the Enclave sells the way some claim it does. But somebody should provide Buick leadership with a prize for something like "most significant GM marketing discovery of the 21st century."

Lotus "Eagle" coming in 2008 {Autoblog}

Oct 31st 2007 2:52PM 996 911. And the roar is still mind bending!

My problem with the current Lotus cars is that they really aren't all that people make them out to be. If you qualify a pure driving experience as one in which the car makes you puke after a driving stint in it, then the Elise really does its magic well.

In the Elise, the sightlines are awful, the aforementioned engine noises are borderline embarrassing, some chap mistook the car for an MR2, and no one would kindly merge out of my lane when travelling behind them. No amount of purity could overcome the Elise's faults in my book.
