May 6th 2008 5:08PM I hope Chevy dealers learn from Ford's mistake with the Ford GT. When it came out, I contacted my local Ford dealer who I had purchased cars from in the past. I wanted to know the process or possibility of ordering one. I was contacted by the head of sales by phone. He told me, quite literally in so many words, "don't even talk to me if you aren't willing to pay 100 grand over MSRP".
I told him thank you very much and I haven't considered another Ford since. When the Shelby came out, I didn't even make a call.
True story.

May 2nd 2008 2:15PM The Zr-1 vette may look dated, have a glass cover over a silly plastic cover in the hood, and have an interior that looks like it came from a Kia but at least it isn't ugly like the GT-R.

Apr 27th 2008 10:24AM NOTE TO BMW: leave the 80's retro thing to VH1 playing "Oh Mickey you're so fine!" music videos.

Apr 26th 2008 10:41PM A boring imitation of what was a really interesting machine for it's time. It looks like either 1) street tuner in took an original car and chopped it for SEMA -- complete with gawdy aftermarket wheels or 2) GM decided to reintroduce the Fiero.

Apr 24th 2008 4:15AM Actually, both are correct here. It does go against the cost cutting idea AND it's potentially a good way to get R & D money into energy conservation.
The "turbo era" of F1 led to a huge boon to the small car market. Suddenly, little boring hatch-backs became exciting. This regenerative power method proposed by F1 may lead to the same.
And, I don't think it will hurt the smaller teams. It will just be sold to them just like the current engine suppliers do. Will it increase costs? Probably. But, the benefit of racing and investing in new technologies would be worth it.
I say, let them try as long as it does not hurt the racing.
