May 7th 2008 7:25AM I think police cars probably get a similar amount of abuse as NYC cabs and the NY fleet of hybrid Escapes is working great for them, a lot less problems then they thought. Besides that, it seems that Aspen might have and image problem when it comes to their vehicles- Saab, Volvo, Hybrid Toyota? While I'm all for free choice, and I drive a foreign car, I think government agencies should probably look at American vehicles first.

Sep 26th 2007 7:19AM so if i needed a car to lug crap around and i was looking at a station wagon, subaru outback (combined 22 mpg) or a mercury mariner hybrid (combined 28), it seems that i should get the subaru because it's not a suv. Way to go on saving gas. Lets find something else to put a negative label on and let people make the best choices they can.

Aug 29th 2007 1:29PM Rob- if cowboy bob sells his two trucks that doesn't mean that they are no longer getting bad gas mileage, it means someone else is driving them getting bad gas mileage. That really doesn't solve the problem. Maybe if we stopped buying so many new vehicles and got full use of the ones we have, the industrial carbon output would go down.

Jul 13th 2007 8:08AM that's a shame that we can't have it here. I have my Thule rack on top of my forrester all the time which lowers my gas mileage, but only have my bike up there a fraction of the time. Foiled again by the US govt.
