Spy Shots: Opel Insignia five-door hatch caught {Autoblog}

May 12th 2008 4:26AM I have never owned a car that wasn’t a hatchback, and never will. This would be an interesting replacement for my aging Saab, as I don’t need a station wagon. I simply want more flexibility than a sedan can offer!

Also, I think that this car has more of a coupe-like shape, which is very trendy right now. Think Mercedes CLS and VW CC (Passat based) righit now. Also, both the Ford Mondeo and Mazda 6 are available as hatchbacks in Europe.

What say you? Should Ford sell Fiesta hatchbacks in U.S.? {Autoblog}

Mar 6th 2008 1:28AM If they offer it with the same build quality in all respects as the European version, and market it cleverly, this car could even go against the Mini Cooper!

Porsche is designing reading glasses now {Autoblog}

Jan 23rd 2008 2:46AM You don't have to own a Porsche to enjoy the great products by Porsche Design.

I would still have a Porsche Design toaster, coffee maker, blender and water kettle, if I did not have a Porsche automobile in my garage.

Good taste in design is not exclusive to owners of one particular brand of sports cars.

What $2,500 buys in India: Tata Nano unveiled {Autoblog}

Jan 10th 2008 8:02AM It's not a Hummer. You can actually see all the way to the other side and end of the vehicle. Besides, people outside of the US can usually drive AND park cars without rear view cameras and other assistance systems.

Jan 10th 2008 3:45AM Yes, both traffic (congestion) and pollution will be interesting. Hope it won't be too bad - IIRC they have lots of two stroke vehicles there right now, so maybe they'll even get an improvement with this.

Jan 10th 2008 3:41AM We should be glad they are making economic vehicles for this part of the world.

If they would buy and operate American style cars and trucks in large numbers, the demand for oil would skyrocket. $100 per barrel would suddenly sound like a bargain, and we'd soon have gas prices of $8/gallon like the Europeans have now.

Jan 10th 2008 3:36AM You look at this through the eyes of someone in the wealthy Western world. Most of the buyers of this car don't know much about cars and want a reliable mode of no-frills transportation that's cheap to run and fix. An older used car will have to be replaced sooner than one of those, and probaby consume more fuel, etc. I'm sure the total cost of ownership for this vehicle is quite reasonable.

Jan 10th 2008 3:33AM If everybody in India and China would think like you (and have the resources like you), you'd soon find yourself paying two to three times as much for gas.

Maybe then you'd have to get your boners from being a real man, rather than from your 540hp extension.
