Eight killed at Maryland street race gathering {Autoblog}

Feb 19th 2008 9:10AM How easy is to see upcoming fog or smoke in the middle of the night when you're doing 65 on an unlit road? From my experience, you don't see fog until it's almost on top of you, even with your headlights on. And my normal response would be to slow down, but not slam on the brakes.

Hallelujah! Oklahoma busting slow drivers in left lane {Autoblog}

Jan 12th 2008 10:22AM I hate left lane campers and oblivious drivers too. In so many cases, heavy traffic is caused by two idiots pacing themselves at the front of the pack. It's mainly the left lane camper's fault, but IMO the driver on the right has some responsibility to recognize the situation and respond (speed up or slow down to break the impasse).

As for the comments above regarding poor driving by ethnic minorities and immigrants, I propose a law that will bar driver's licenses from all: Asians, Indians, and Latinos... all people who have immigrated within the past 5 years... all people 55 or older...all people who have moved or migrated into the area within the past 3 years... all tourists... all people with cell phones... all teenagers ... all people with children in the vehicle. Afterall, these are all people who in my experience have some tendency to drive poorly.

Transforgasm: Michael Bay releases high-res art of eight Transformers {Autoblog}

May 11th 2007 3:52AM Why do they look so cluttered and busy? They seem more like garbage-bots or scrap-bots. The originals looked so clean cut.

Dilbert does the auto industry {Autoblog}

Apr 30th 2007 6:38PM Dilbert is just like "Officespace."

I always tell people that if they don't understand the movie Officespace, then they should ask for a promotion because they belong in management.

You ready for a V8-powered, RWD coupe from Hyundai? {Autoblog}

Apr 30th 2007 6:33PM "kudos go to the WR-commissioned artist who created this image, because it looks great"

I never understood the point of these artist renderings by third parties. Some random artist draws a picture of some car that might be made by Hyundai, and everyone says: looks great! build it, Hyundai!

The entire exercise seems arbitrary, pointless, and apparently very misleading.

Aerodynamic dyslexia {Autoblog}

Apr 20th 2007 1:11AM Seeing as how 99% of rear spoilers are for looks, even on so-called performance cars, does it really matter? How often will this guy be driving fast enough for that gimicky spoiler to make a difference? I really doubt he is taking that thing to the track much.

New York Auto Show's Top 5 commercials {Autoblog}

Apr 12th 2007 2:09AM I HATE the jetta commercial with a passion. Shameless attempt to use scare tactics to send people screaming in terror all the way to the dealership.

GM suspends advertising on Imus show {Autoblog}

Apr 12th 2007 2:04AM Double standards? Maybe to an extent.

IMO, CONTEXT absolutely makes a huge difference on whether a statement can legitimately be contrued as racially malicious.

A black comic making stereotypical comments about blacks to a black audience is a far cry from a white comic making the same comments about blacks to a white audience. In fact, it's also a different matter for a black comic to make the comments to white audience.

Margaret Cho always annoyed me with the way she poked fun of Asians. Why? Because it seemed like all her acts were before predominantly WHITE audiences. It's one thing for a group to make fun of its own problems, shortcomings, and flaws. It's quite another for to exploit those issues to entertain a different group. In one case, it's satire, it's criticism, it's bitterness, it's inside-reference. In the other case, it CAN be and often is maliciousness, racist, ignorance, hateful.

New York Preview: 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX sedan {Autoblog}

Apr 2nd 2007 11:33PM Hmm...yea, I hate it. The front looks like Chrysler, Volkswagen, Toyota, and Subaru violently mashed together. It is way too busy. More is definitely not better.

New York Preview: Chevy Trax Concept {Autoblog}

Mar 28th 2007 10:42PM Definitely the cutest idea to come from GM's styling, but I still think the general idea of the Chevy "bar" is the most hideous and stylisticaly inhibitting feature in the automotive world.
