Not over yet: eBay buyer still trying to get M3 from BMW dealer {Autoblog}
Mar 26th 2008 12:22PM Even casinos realize that they can't win ALL the time. They occasionally pay out big bucks even though they steal more than enough money to make up for it.
Why can't the stealership just realize that in the long run, it won't be that big of a deal... their reputation is more important.
Where the hell is BMW NA? Step in idiots! Its BMW that people are getting mad at, not Ryan Mathis and Husker Corn Sales!
New York 2008: Porsche GT2 dressed to kill in red with black rims {Autoblog}
Mar 20th 2008 2:51PM I don't think anyone is implying that Corvette or GTR have the image/brand recognition of a Porsche. I think the comment was just meant to suggest that performance is becoming a far more attainable attribute in sports cars other than premium brands like Porsche or even Ferrari.
As far as the Cayman issue I think you missed the point. Like you said, the Cayman isn't as luxurious but is more track oriented. The car is definitely more balanced because the engine isn't sitting on the rear wheels, which means the chassis actually has a lot of potential. I think what people want to see is some sort of "GT" treatment for the Cayman making it even better than it is. I think Porsche is just limiting the Cayman as not to cut into the 911 market, which is undoubtedly the hallmark of Porsche. I guess they might just be scared that the Cayman could actually be 'better' than a 911.
PS. My good friend has a 997 Targa 4S and that thing is just a blast to drive. It is comfortable enough to use as a daily driver but plenty capable of hurling you in and out of an apex. Good luck with your purchase!

Jan 9th 2008 4:04PM about the overboosted steering... its has speed sensitive steering so that at high speeds its actually quite firm. At 70mph you cant simply 'pinky turn' the wheel, you actually have to grip it. I do agree that its disconnected, but thats the point, people don't want to feel bumps or contours in the road. Pretty good review, just keep in mind that not everyone is an enthusiast (hell for 80k i'd take a GTR!)

Dec 10th 2007 12:58PM And an audi is a VW in drag, an Acura is a honda, etc. So "woopee" to you. And if by the "McDonalds issue" you are referring to the coffee lawsuit, it actually had merit which is why the lady won, there is more to that story than just "coffee is hot".

Dec 7th 2007 7:52PM And now that BMW USA is quite aware of the PROcede and willing to void plenty of warranties, I'm sure a lot of people will be happy to put down the extra 600 bucks to keep their warranty... and maybe for the opportunity to put a DINAN badge on the back of their bimmer.
Now if only I had 45k for a 335 :\
