Feb 5th 2007 9:03AM two turbos are mainly used to spool faster, not just to produce more boost. it also allows a two stage turbo affect so that you have instant boost, as well as a higher boost at later RPMs. Lets face it this engine was built to bring ford into competition. when one manufacturer starts making mmore HP, the rest have to catch up. and the advertising of having two turbos helps as well. howver there are many reason to have two and not being able to make enough power with one is completely untrue.
who cares about the allison trans. GM just buys them becasue they cant make a worthy one in house. and also ahy bother with automatic crap. at least ford offers a manual, i mean a real transmission. you dont see tractor trailers rolling around with slushboxes do you? its true though. trucks this size are truely not neccassary, but its the market place. i will never understand why some people drive full size trucks daily. i personally hate it
