Mythbusters fail to foil the speed camera {Autoblog}

Mar 8th 2007 2:09PM @pete

But thats the point, they could easily just take a photo of my car at any old time and just say I was speeding.

Due process of the law should me enforced by a person of the law, not some automated piece of equipment that easily be rigged or wrong.

Mar 2nd 2007 12:29PM "I think its a bit silly to consider an incorrect contact number for NHTSA's Vehicle Safety Hotline to be considered a "recall". What was recalled, exactly?"

It didn't stop the media for SLAMMING GM regarding a recall on the Colbalt because it was missing a page from the manual that showed the owner how to hook up a carseat to the rear anchors, on the back shelve. Good Morning America even went with the "think of the children" BS.

Forbes lists most recalled 2006 models {Autoblog}

Mar 2nd 2007 10:58AM Not surprising that the *2006* Camry had a low number of recalls, considering it was being replaced by an all new 2007 Camry, not to mention it had several major recalls prior to 2006.

Chicago Preview: Dodge facelifts the Dakota for 2008 {Autoblog}

Feb 5th 2007 11:44AM "The inventory has been cleared out, thanks for the old news. You think any truck gets great mileage? What about the Nissan Frontier? Damn V-6 gets the same mileage as the Dakota V-8??? Or the Tacoma gets barely any better mileage than the Dakota and uses PREMIUM FUEL?? Gimme a break. Want unsold vehicles? Go ask Honda about their wanna be Ridgeline."

What are you smoking? Chrysler has some of the highest inventory figures recently and that just doesn't clean up in a month or two, especially when your sales are *down* 18% in Jan 2007 (not to mention the Dakota was down 20%!)

Btw, the Ridgeline sold only 400 less than the Dakota in Jan 2007 and I'm pretty sure that it's inventory level is lower, because... well Honda actually cuts production of low selling models, not run at full-tilt like Dodge does.

Chicago Preview: Dodge facelifts the Dakota for 2008 {Autoblog}

Feb 4th 2007 5:55PM Sometimes I wonder if DCX is purposely making Dodge/Chrysler cars and trucks ugly? A 1st year design student could design a more pleasing interior.

It's 2007 -- it's time for the SEA OF GRAY interiors to go away, even on trucks! Heck, a 1993 Dakota is better looking inside and out!

Feb 2nd 2007 12:51PM "How does reducing fleet sales help resale?"

If I own a 2006 Impala and want to sell it in two years, it's going to be hard to get any value for it when there will be 50k rental Impalas hitting the market. These will have a price point to make them move, while in two years the majority of Camrys forsale will be from owners and they'll want higher dollar for them.

Just look at the Taurus. At local auctions in Ohio, a 2005 Taurus with 40k to 50k miles can be had for about 6k or even less.
