CARB offering compromise on emissions regulations? {Autoblog}
May 14th 2008 5:47PM "To imply (well, not imply so much as state) that Californians don't care about what happens in the rest of the world is, imo, misguided and intellectually dishonest."
If you have read these pages before you would have seen it. Those comments are posted time and time again so it is in no way intellectually dishonest. How is what I said any different that when people call Michigan or Ohio a "third world country"??
You're right though that maybe not as a state but as a region (So Cal) its true.
What I said is not mindless bashing, its simply a summary of what every California topic includes and there is no way to deny it. I understand you see it differently living there but you need to understand that people outside veiw the same subject very differently.

May 14th 2008 5:32PM Yep, 100% true!
I go to Waterford Hills raceway here in Michigan and see lightly modified Mustangs crushing modified Subarus and Evo's on the ROAD COURSE! Yes its a live rear axle, yes it is heavy but make know mistake that these cars can really move.
Maybe if everyone didn't watch a comparo that Top Gear did and looked for themselves they would see.

May 14th 2008 5:22PM How many people drive STI's, Evo's, BMW's and so on to their potential?
Not trying to be jerk but deep down you know its true.

May 14th 2008 5:14PM Just like Californians do not care about what happens outside of California I could care less if they choke on their emissions. Maybe if you took the spraypaint cans off the shelf that could help. You would know what I mean if you have driven through L.A.
Also, soon we'll see post after post of how California is the 6th largest economy in the world but neglect the fact that most of its money comes from tourism by the "poor, stupid" people from elsewhere in the U.S.
At the same time I don't see why the automakers and The Terminator just meet halfway. Both are shooting high and if they could both look past the end of their noses you could use that halfway point as the national standard.
Sorry for the rant but just trying to cover the bases before we get 50 posts about their economy and how great everything is there.

May 14th 2008 1:14AM Damn man, that vein is popping out of your head!! Breathe, 1...2...3... and again.
Its just a car and even you hae to admit Ford is turning the corner. Finanically they are getting stronger and once that has leveled off a bit you can see a greater concentration on product. People can only do so much and when you're the hole like Ford was then you take what you can get. Ford has a pretty steady stream of new or heavily updated cars comming out over the next 2-3 years. You'll have a new Fusion, Flex, Escape, Taurus, F series, Mustang, and a new Focus along with the new Fiesta. Every car will be turned over in both the Ford and Lincoln brand in that time.
So save your frustration for then if things go to hell.

Toyota responds to Ford's new initial quality ads {Autoblog}
May 12th 2008 12:01PM I agree that its funny Toyota says "this is meaningless" yet have used it to their benefit for years. Now that Ford and others have caught up its all of a sudden not a viable tool.
But you see it mirrored here but Autoblog posters. "Fords suck because Toyota has way better quality according to Consumer Reports and JD Power" and now, "it really doesn't mean much."
It becoming funnier and funnier to read some of the comments and how people contradict themselves (often in the same post) all in an effort to tow their auto company's line.
Remember, they ARE NOT fanboys just auto "enthusiasts".

GM may divorce trucks and full-size SUVs {Autoblog}
May 9th 2008 4:27PM GMC should have the Yukon and maybe even drop the Acadia. When the Traverse comes out I see the Acadia taking the biggest hit out of the three crossovers offered by GM. It would also keep with the "Professional Grade" marketing strategy the GMC pushes by offering trucks that can do work.
People will freak out I am sure saying "the Acadia sells the best" and I am well aware of that but look at the other options. The Enclave is much more expensive while the Outlook is a Saturn and people still have a negative veiw of Saturns that will take time to change. So thats why I single out the Acadia.
