Ken Livingstone is Mayor of London no more! {Autoblog}

May 5th 2008 8:11AM Boris Johnson is a buffoon. Anyone who says he's a "level headed guy" needs to get their own examined. You're all talking about policies in terms of an automotive point of view, which is the point of this website, I appreciate, but the fact that he has a track record in being openly racist and homophobic wouldn't worry anyone, no? I'm amazed that Londoners have voted him in, to be honest. You are all so quick to diss Red Ken, but the fact he's been in place for two terms must mean he's done something right, yes? Boris Johnson will just put his foot in his mouth one time too many in his new, higher-profile job as mayor of London and I would not be surprised if he ends up losing the next election.

I would also not be too quick to boot out the Labour government. But that's just my opinion. I'm not from the UK - I'm just an outside observer. The UK is doing better under Labour than it ever has. Everyone wanted Tony Blair back in power when he stood down. The only real blight on his record was Iraq - granted. Look at the rest of his achievement and you can't deny he's been a good PM. Gordon Brown is a good politician, just lacks that extra charisma that a more presidential prime ministerial office requires these days in the UK.

Rendered Speculation? Is this the new BMW 7-Series? {Autoblog}

Apr 16th 2008 5:05PM It's a rendering alright - there's some slight feathering around the grille. But I imagine it's an accurate enough one judging by the spy shots I've seen. Also, the placing of the side-mounted indicator seems awkward. And I would be very surprised if BMW don't follow in the footsteps of their rivals and build them into the wing-mirrors.

What if... Ford had made all the Right Moves {Autoblog}

Oct 13th 2006 9:08PM How can you compare the Fiesta to the Prius? They're in a different size league, for a start. People that buy the Prius in Europe would never have considered the Fiesta. And vice versa. Here in Ireland you're seeing a lot of taxi-drivers take on the Prius. It's about as small as would be acceptable for a taxi. The Fiesta carries two in comfort, four at a push

You've also neglected to mention other small cars on offer from Ford: the European, Fiesta-based Fusion, the C-Max (a Focus on stilts, as to call it an MPV would be false advertising, of sorts), and the S-Max, at a stretch. It's a seven-seater, but not in the true sense the way the Galaxy is.

Decision on SMART coming in June {Autoblog}

May 24th 2006 6:56PM Doogs... could be worth pointing out that Kia aren't Japanese, either.

Oh, and the Smart is German/Swiss, to be accurate.

Weak.

SMART ass advert rips on American autos - UPDATE {Autoblog}

May 22nd 2006 10:54PM And InDogWeTrust.... serious kudos must go your way for constructing a well-thought and rational post. You make some good points which, no doubt, will go above the heads of many readers on here, but will be appreciated by some too.

The more I read the comments on this site, the less inclined this European, mediocre, unhygienic surrender-monkey is to partake in its use at all. Those of you with minds small enough to make such posts are ruining it for those that come here to actually get some decent automotive news - which the site was intended for in the first place.

And I must say, for shame, autoblog, for publishing this story in the manner in which you did in the first place. A headline like "SMART ass advert rips on American autos" was almost asking for the bottom-dwellers to let their presence be felt. Vocally, and from the rooftops. As a site that gives information in a journalistic manner, I would expect a more impartial tone to be adopted, or at least some form of irreverence which makes it appear like it's taken with humour and good grace. I'll get my news from Jalopnik from now on, I think.

May 22nd 2006 10:38PM Tyrone, can I point out that, aside from your delicious racist comments about all us over in Europe... you're named after a county in Northern Ireland... which is in Europe. So come on, get in the shower with us. It's warm.

And just for proof, here's a map...

Audi launches RS 4 Avant, Cabriolet {Autoblog}

May 18th 2006 4:57PM yes, Jon, you've said pretty much what I was going to, word for word.

Audi launches RS 4 Avant, Cabriolet {Autoblog}

May 18th 2006 11:54AM Guys, you're flogging a dead horse.

This car has exclusivity where the M3 does not. That alone probably means every unit is sold before it's even made it off the production line.

Audi product push includes A2, A5, A7, A8, Q3 and Q5 {Autoblog}

May 17th 2006 2:24PM Luckily, the above A7 is just a rendering. The real thing will look nothing like it. Audis are my favourite cars, not least for it's design. That thing is fugly.
