Oct 22nd 2006 11:32AM The styling is subjective and while they ride like crap the performance is excellent the handling decent and they are cheep and easy to modify. These cars are virtually bullet proof and will run forever with decent maintenance. I put 145k on an 87 GT and hardly put a dime into it. I loved that car!
Ford sales fall in August, but car sales surge {Autoblog}
Sep 4th 2006 3:53PM How can you fault Ford for building the trucks and SUV's that people wanted? In an era of cheep gas, that was what the market demanded. It was a smart business decision and Ford made billions doing it. In that time Ford was the most profitable car company on earth.
Then they decided to buy Jaguar and form the PAG in a vain attempt to create another BMW or Mercedes Benz. They pumped billions down that rat hole and they neglected their entire North American car operations. It was a bad business decision.
Now with gas prices high and cars in demand again they don't have enough fresh designs in the North American market place to be profitable and its time to play catch up.
They proved they can do it with cars like the Mustang and Fusion, but they need more.
In time I know they can do it, but I hope they have enough time.
Crazy fast Kiwi: Steve Millen preps a Ford GT for New Zealand road rally {Autoblog}
Sep 4th 2006 1:49PM It was the rear main seal that was leaking on some Ford GT's, I don't believe it was ever said that oil was "FREELY LEAKING".
The recall for the control arms was precautionary, none ever failed on the road.
By the way, Ferrari has had its share of recalls too, check the nhtsa.org site for yourself.
While Jeremy Clarkson is just a TV talk show host, he is someone who has had the opportunity to drive many of the worlds most exotic and expensive cars, so surely his opionion counts for something.

Sep 4th 2006 10:26AM Jeremy Clarkson's problems with the Ford GT were limited to the after market alarm system. He still loves the car, owns one and considers it the "Best Super Car In The World", his words.
