Ford introduces car-limiting MyKey for worried parents {Autoblog}
Oct 6th 2008 12:29PM This speed limiting feature was available way back in 1984 and my dad made sure that my first car had it. It worked with any key on this particular car....a brand spanking new, bright red custom sedan called....the Chevy Chevette CS! It had about 30 hp less than my motorcycle has today so it really had a tough time reaching 80 mph and staying there for long. But that didn't prevent me from attempting the opening scene from Dukes of hazards over every railroad crossing that I encountered. Even at 80 mph there is still plenty of stupidity to be had.
NYC garages grant smart fortwo cheaper parking rates {Autoblog}
Sep 9th 2008 9:43AM I work in Midtown and commute in from NJ burbs on motorcycle in the summer months. I wish garages would charge us motorcyclists a quarter of the full rate for parking based on the amount of space we take up. Many garages will not allow bikes to park and the ones that do either do not offer a discount or it is very minimal.
Police and protestors clash at future site of Tata Nano plant {Autoblog}
Aug 21st 2008 3:50PM All this trouble over a car that most Indians are not looking forward to seeing on their already congested streets. I came across one of these tin boxes on a recent trip to India this summer. Video link below:

2009 Subaru Impreza WRX gets upgraded to 265 hp {Autoblog}
Jul 18th 2008 12:20PM What I really wanted to point out was that they are using the wrong type connector (stereo mini plug into one of the rca component jacks) to show auxiliary connectivity.
Also I didn't know that video in was offered before.

Jul 18th 2008 11:04AM Did you see the aux inputs in the gallery? They show an ipod plugged into an RCA jack with a stereo mini plug. Also it looks like the AUX RCA jacks will accept L/R audio and Video as well.
HItting $2,500 difficult for Tata's Nano as steel prices rise {Autoblog}
Jul 9th 2008 10:48AM I spotted a few of these cars undergoing road testing while I was vacationing in India back in June. Here is a link to a video of one that we tried to pull over so that we could get a better look.

Tata wants supplier to develop $10 airbags for the Nano {Autoblog}
May 26th 2008 1:42PM That is the point....lifestyle. And it is has changed all over the world, including Asian coutnries. I don't know the last time you have gone to India, but there are plenty of people with "fatness" and yes economic conditions do lend to a lifestyle where you can afford to be fat or you have no choice to be fat because you are working so much that there is no time to get out and move about and eat healthy fresh foods.

May 26th 2008 1:37PM Now here is some more misinformation about driving in India. While it is true that traffic is horrible in the big cities and there are many instances where you would be lucky to be travelling at 20mph, don't think that this will be the average speed for people using this car. There are plenty of highways that rival the roads in the western world but with the added danger of people that do not have any traffic discipline and the random cow or bullock cart that decides to wander onto the road. It is very dangerous to drive in India. And even at speeds under 20mph if you get mixed up with one of those drunks driving a lorry you had better hope that the vehicle that you are in affords you as much protection as possible. Let's not make it seem like driving in India is akin to driving at slow speeds in a Boca Raton retirement community with golf carts. It's this careless attitude about safety that is killing so many people on the roads in India on a daily basis.

May 26th 2008 1:27PM Well Fatima didn't get the "airbag" reference with Rosie and the Donald but, when she says that Indians are not fat people I beg to differ. In general obesity has been a western phenomenon, but with economic globalization so has the pudge factor traversed all borders and oceans. A middle class indian family that would be the target market for this vehicle will most certainly be (on average) on the portly side. The middle-class lifestyle means mom and dad work and more often than not the meals will be comprised of Maggie noodles, prepared foods, take out, restaurant/fast food and don't forget the additional ladoos/sweets that prosperity can buy. Also free time and excercise time are much reduced because mom and dad have to work, even on Saturdays (that is the norm) and the kids are off to after school tuitions (need to get into the right IT school or go abroad) so no time for free play. So it is not entirely true that the people riding in this car will be at or under the perfect BMI. The world is just getting lazier and fatter.
REPORT: Tata green-lights LRX and Jag sportscar {Autoblog}
Apr 3rd 2008 12:25PM Golly gee that's a great point. You know I was wondering something similar. Since Christians are supposed to observe the Sabbath, how do American's run NASCAR races and Monster Truck pulls on any given Sunday?? Just sayin....
