Oct 12th 2008 1:10AM Sprint: CDMA. Atrocious customer service, attractive data prices, not as much coverage as Verizon, crap phone selection.
Verizon: CDMA. Locked down phones. Incredible coverage. You're stuck with CDMA.
AT&T: Okay deployment of 3G data services for GSM. Customer service is iffy. Horrible data rates.
T-Mobile: Young, immature 3G network. Fantastic customer service. Starting to really embrace open networks.
I am a T-Mobile customer, and have been for six years. This last year, I have seriously been cross shopping, and even took AT&T for a test drive, but I can't find anything like the deal I have with T-Mobile. My home town now has 3G. I bit the bullet and ordered the G1 and another two year contract. In my opinion, there isn't another American carrier like them.

Oct 9th 2008 1:25PM Not that I don't enjoy a good Apple flame, but HELL YES Wifi was important in 2004! and 2003, and 2002, and 2001, and 2000. This is a lot like people who believed laptops didn't need onboard ethernet in the late 90s.
Seriously. Keep flaming, but be clueful about it. There was no excuse for not having wireless capability in 2004.

Oct 9th 2008 10:52AM Does no one like resolution? I do not understand 17" laptops with 1440x900 displays, or 15.4" laptops with 1280x800. It's almost like you guys enjoy pixels.

Oct 7th 2008 4:51PM Zak:
* The iPhone does not have 100% on Acid3 yet. Webkit does, but that release isn't Safari yet. Note, also, that Nokia's S60 phones and Android use Webkit as well.
* The battery life thing is a myth, it was never tested against Nokias or most European 3G handsets.

Oct 3rd 2008 12:19PM When Apple makes something similar, people probably will. For now, they only have two under-rezed 13.3", and an under-rezed 15.4".
Lenovo's ThinkPad W700 gets reviewed, practicality gets questioned {Engadget}
Oct 3rd 2008 12:18PM Zorque: Then why do you reply? Yes, in today's modern aesthetic, ThinkPads are considered ugly by comparison. When you have one in front of you, for some reason, you start to garner a certain appreciation for the look. Has it ever occurred to you that there's a reason why ThinkPad owners defend them so much? They're fantastic machines, ergonomically perfect, and oddly attractive in a weird way.

Oct 2nd 2008 5:17PM Hello, sir, you may have the dumb, but I may be mistaken, so I'll clarify. This is for T-Mobile UK, and there have been third party solutions for GSM, EDGE, UMTS, and HSDPA for some time. This is just a snazzy design with Tmo UK self branding it, and that's what the big deal is.
