Officially Official: Mercedes-Benz unveils updated SL {Autoblog}
Jan 31st 2008 2:26PM This one is a much better improvement over the SL550, 350, 280.
This is actually the SL65 AMG if anyone has actually noticed. Its is the same car from the prevoius AMG SL65 rear teaser.

Jun 14th 2007 6:02PM I really hope chrysler bombs so no other private equity firm even considering a automaker again.
BMW and Mercedes sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G {Autoblog}
Jun 12th 2007 10:38AM True they blew $38 billion on chrysler but sharing with BMW is seen as only slightly less of a desirable badge then a Mercedes rather then chrysler which is a world apart. Remember Dieter Zetche said this when the Chrysler breakup was announced.
Coming to think of it, excluding the hyper cars (Maybach, Rolls etc...) Merc can only share with BMW without denting their image and vise versa with BMW. Considering the C/3 and E/5 and realeased a year apart from their rival they could actually share a platform between one another. As long as they are building their own engines and chracteristics into the cars it shouldn't make much difference.
Maybe they could setup a specialist company to produce some parts together, produce platforms together, bulk buy and then split any profit 50/50 between onme another. They could also sell the platform to coach builders like Fisker.
p.s. Sure BMW may be more sporty but Mercedes is probably the safest brand out of all automakers even Volvo. The only other brand that can probably compare is Renault who have about the same 5 star rated cars.
Mercedes approves four-door convertible Ocean Drive Concept for production {Autoblog}
Jun 8th 2007 6:06PM You guy ain't got a what you on about. Mercedes are better looking cars compared to any of their competitors. Thats why they are their class standard in majority of the classes they compete in, be it design or technology.
Personally I believe Mercedes shouldn't have lost the nerve on the last minute and should have left it as a Maybach as it was attended to be. Hopefully this is the 4 door convertible of the planned Maybach 4 door coupe ($200K) which was spoken about a few months ago.
2009 Cadillac CTS-V will have 600HP Corvette Blue Devil engine! {Autoblog}
Jun 4th 2007 3:23PM Yeah right. If the ZO6 has 500bhp then the blue devil will have 600bhp. Meaning if they do detune this engine by 100bhp, then they will only have 500bhp.
DOES ANYONE DO ANY RESEARCH AROUND HERE OR WHAT?

Rendered speculation: Mercedes A-class {Autoblog}
Jun 2nd 2007 2:26PM That grill looks mean. It remind me of the 300SLR and 200SL. They should use that grill design on the SL, CL and the rest of the Coupe and Roadster ranges as they did back in the 50's till the 90's. Its instantly recognised a Merc grill.
For the A-class, B-class and C-coupe, they should consider just killing off the lines as history shows with the a-class and 1 series, that you can't make money on this sector unless you share a cheap platform rather then shrinking a 3series or C class. Audi have Volkswagen Golf to thank for it sucess. Stick to building big cars which you are good at
Alpha RWD platform set to invade GM lineup {Autoblog}
Jun 2nd 2007 6:53AM Talk about brand overkill. Personally I would move all saturn cars and dealers over to Pontiac and then kill the saturn badge altogether. kill buick everywhere apart from china in which they should rebadge Cadillacs for chinese markets and kill hummer completely.
Sell Saab as soon as possible cos it just don't fit in with GM anywhere.

Saturn kicking butt and taking conquests {Autoblog}
Apr 24th 2007 12:40PM Why try to fight european cars with a domestic brand. GM should just use their brain and rebrand all saturns as Opel in American markets. A perception of a german car will always be better then a american car and they can make more by charging more in the first place like volkswagen.
