Chrysler kills rebadge of Dodge Journey to work on small car {Autoblog}
May 13th 2008 3:27PM Both the Edge and the Journey look like stereotypic, standard issue modern CUVs. Side profiles are very similar. Really comes down to which grill and what equipment you like better. Nothing "silly" or daring about either one.
Enter the Rumormill: Ford considering F-100 small pickup {Autoblog}
May 12th 2008 3:19PM This is a terrific idea. The F150 is heavier than it need be for many light duty purposes.
Ford has let the Ranger languish, so by today's standards, it is an under-equipped, unsafe (but still cheap) conveyance. When Ford went to the 04 F150, they should have reskinned the "heritage" 97 to 04 model) for a smaller and lighter choice. It would have been no sweat to use that chassis and take a couple inches off the width and quite a few more off the length, ending up with a somewhat more maneuverable truck with better gas mileage. Better late than never.

May 6th 2008 2:34PM Yes, EXP, you have your facts right. The Escort borrowed from Mazda, not the other way around. Same with the Probe/MX-6, both successful for a time. The Fusion triplets were borrowed from Mazda as well. Even the Escape began life based on a Mazda design.
Ford only lent Mazda the B series truck and Navajo as badge engineered jobs. And in those cases, it did not serve Mazda much. But the Mazda Fords have done rather well.

May 6th 2008 12:58PM Excuse me, but no version of the 626 was ever a rebadged Contour. Nor was the Protege ever an Escort. Nice theories, but get your facts right.

May 5th 2008 9:25AM I like the newAcura shield grill look. It's classy and sets Acuras apart from so many other cars that have more or less adopted that grill shape.

May 2nd 2008 9:39AM Hurray for Jaguar! Any turnaround, no matter how small, is the right direction. In spite of Milan's small increase, Mercury continues to die by inches. That's sad, but Mercury has already ceased to exist as anything more than a Ford trim level...when they let the last Cougar (initially very successful) languish and die.
And Lincoln continues to shrink as well. Ford will be paying for their bonehead board and executive decislonmaking for many years...if they survive this industry shakeup.

Owner takes Prius topless, makes hybrid convertible {Autoblog}
May 1st 2008 3:05PM So someone has succeeded in making the Prius even uglier. And the door frames negate a lot of both the convertible experience and look. To each his or her own, but please keep it out of my yard.

Apr 29th 2008 1:29PM So would you rather be in an Accent or Aveo in a crash than a smart? I wouldn't.
