Rendered Ruminations: The AM V10, Aston Martin's next halo car (not really) {Autoblog}

Apr 11th 2008 11:31PM Wow, I can't believe I'm the only one who thinks it looks incredible. The wideset headlights emphasize the stance, and those rear haunches are like a beefier version of the Vanquish, and the way it flows into the tapering greenhouse...awesome. As for those who are complaining about the front overhang, look at the Enzo - it's necessary for aerodynamic elements at supercar speeds.

I think it's probably one of the best looking fantasy renders I've ever seen. Most are cartoonish with unresolved surfaces and poor proportions.

Sure, it might not fit in completely with the Aston DNA...but all the same criticisms above could be leveled at the XJ220 as a Jaguar - and it's gorgeous beyond belief.

Would gas be 6-9 cents a gallon more expensive without ethanol? {Autoblog Green}

Mar 25th 2008 1:55PM Not to mention the increase in food prices that impact all of us, even if we don't drive.

Corn ethanol is criminal.

Tesla's Ze'ev Drori says CARB should not become a "mockery" this Thursday {Autoblog Green}

Mar 25th 2008 1:52PM If the government had the intestinal fortitude to legislate a higher gas tax, as it should, that saleable threshold would be a whole lot lower...

Mark LaNeve: Camaro won't be positioned as a muscle car {Autoblog}

Mar 23rd 2008 12:58PM You most certainly have the choice to do what you want to do. Now, if they tie up the loopholes, you just need to actually pay for the consequences of your actions. Heaven forbid!

Let people have all the trucks they want, we just need a $5/gallon gas tax...

New York 2008: Late Night in NYC with the Kia KOUP concept {Autoblog}

Mar 19th 2008 9:30PM I expect it will a be a competently executed traditional design, with maybe some fresh detailing. I think the Kee was more interesting, though this may be more conventionally attractive.

Peak oil is the newest boogeyman in popular media {Autoblog Green}

Mar 14th 2008 7:37PM Despite growing demand, global oil production decreased in 2007, and that happened in a year without any severe disruptions (such as Hurricane Katrina, which hurt refining capacity along the Gulf Coast).

There are plenty of analysts who believe oil peaked in Dec. 2005, or thereabouts. It's already happened.

Geneva 2008: Japanese ambition, the K07 Spyder {Autoblog}

Mar 8th 2008 12:57PM Oops, that should say "may have been born in Japan."

Geneva 2008: Japanese ambition, the K07 Spyder {Autoblog}

Mar 8th 2008 12:57PM ...I don't understand how you can classify this as Japanese. It was designed by Ken Okuyama, who may have been born in Italy, but was educated at ACCD in the US, before he worked for Pininfarina in Italy, where he lives.

It's the work of one man, it doesn't reflect any kind of cultural aesthetic.

Behold the Lightning GT. And it was good. {Autoblog Green}

Mar 2nd 2008 7:18PM The design is much better now than before.
