Tesla Roadster to begin production on March 17th {Autoblog}
Jan 25th 2008 3:32PM Simianspeedster,
IMHO you are completely missing the entire point of Tesla vehicle. You are looking at "right here, right now" and not at the big picture of Tesla being one of the first all electric zero emission sport cars that is planned to be followed by a much higher volume family sedan based on same electronics.
1) It doesn't matter what percentage of Tesla buyers will use it as their daily driver.
2) Its obvious that one of the most efficient and advanced cars in history will have personnel issues and miss its launch deadline.
What matters most is that there are people that are willing to invest and to wait for it to come. It is not you or me but these people that are investing into a better future of super-efficient zero emission vehicles. By working out most problems with this 1st model Tesla will be better prepaired for their next generation cars. Tesla Motors are pioneers in zero emission vehicle development, and if its celebrities dollars that fund their R&D, God bless these celebrities for doing us all such a huge favor.

SPY SHOTS: New un-camoed BMW M3 sedan pics surface {Autoblog}
Aug 10th 2007 10:58AM As an owner of both 2002 E46 and 2007 E90 models, allow me to pleasantly surprise you that weight of the newer E90 model is SAME up to a few kilos!!! This is achieved by using lighter materials for the engine as well as Aluminum suspension in the bigger E90. Do youself a favor and check the specs before posting your comments. Make sure you compare SAME body style, as weight differs from 1,425 to 1,775 kg (320si and 330xd touring). Your standard sedan with manual and no AWD will be aproximately SAME 1500kg.
Saturn dealers to offer Camry, Accord drives to Aura shoppers {Autoblog}
Jun 11th 2007 10:39AM I really enjoyed reading comments on this subject. A lot of interesting opinions and personal experiences. Everyone has their own preferences. Something I want to add that was not said here yet: People that sell you domestics or people that sell you imports are SAME American people. It's only too bad that a particular sales person has been acting arrogantly and eventhough it can result in a frustraiting shopping experience it should NOT affect your perception of the brand as a whole. If it was possible, I'd never go to a dealership alltogether and order my new car online directly from manufacturer and paid with a credit line that I can got from my bank. That would save me A LOT of hussle as well as comission fees that I have to pay to a dealer. I'd go to dealership just for test drive and once I know what I want, I'd just order it online. You say its not fair to the dealers, well, then car companies should have sponsored car demo events. Dealers are not really producing anything. They're merely a layer between manufacturer and a consumer. I can get all my info online. And if I want a test drive, I can just go and rent a car for a week. My point here is that dealers have more influence on potential customer than the brand itself and that's just plain wrong.
BMW expects the 1-series to lure enthusiasts back into the fold {Autoblog}
Jun 4th 2007 2:53PM BMWs are a drivers car, and hence its more about handling, not straight line acceleration or fancy stereos. Mustang and Camaro are too large to be as nimble as smaller BMWs. As for rattles, things have changed A LOT since time of 2002 model, same goes for reliability. In my opinion, being bmw owner for many years, although American cars are cheaper to maintain, BMWs are far more reliable than American cars.
VIDEO: Chrysler Sebring Coupe hardtop in action {Autoblog}
Nov 29th 2006 3:09PM Headlights are ok
Front grill is ok
Hood strikes… doesn’t add anything to car look in my opinion
Back seats legroom looks spacitious until u notice that front seats are moved all the way forward, such that its nearly under the steering wheel.
Analog clock is not really a unique feature as it has been unique feature for infinity for many many years.
The hard top mechanism:
About 3 times as loud as other hard top convertibles that I have seen.
Takes up way more trunk space than other hard top convertibles that I have seen.
Roof will get ripped off if car is moving at even a low speed due to the fact that it creates a huge wind resistance surface when it retracts.
Compare it to 2007 BMW 3 retructable hardtop coupe video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYsOHmTzAB4
Just listen to the sound. Watch how neatly and quickly bmw hardtop folds into the trunk and how little room it takes.
I DO realize these 2 cars are in different price range, but this is something Chrysler should look up to if they want to stay competitive.

Coachbuilt BMW 6-Series by...Volga? {Autoblog}
Sep 25th 2006 1:27PM Guys, you are forgetting something. This design is meant to resemble the style of Volgas from 1950's! This has nothing to do with current car styling in Russia or any other country right now. Only comment #17 got it right. It's similar to Ford Thunderbird. The idea is for rich russian people in their 60's to flashback to their yougth, while enjoying the safistication of top-notch german engineering.
