Beijing 2008: Brilliance BS4 wagon is good looking... no BS! {Autoblog}

Apr 21st 2008 6:53PM If you recall, Brilliance has released a few cars before...ie the BC3 Turbo:

They'd contracted with, I think, Pininfarina to do the design...and it shows.

IIHS questions the effectiveness of five new safety features {Autoblog}

Apr 17th 2008 2:54PM What the h*ll do most of those acronyms mean?! VDC = vehicle dynamics control (I think), but the rest of them? WTF? And I thought Porsche was bad.

Zip it! Mumbai holds a no-honking day {Autoblog}

Apr 9th 2008 10:45AM Agreed that the intent of the article is a bit misleading...honking in India is not an outlet for aggression...it's part of driving. We use turnsignals (mostly) and mirrors, they use the horn and that's it.

I do agree tho, having spent nearly 2hrs getting from one side of Mumbai to the other (not uncommon), the peace once inside the airport really emphasized how much "on the edge" your nerves become after being subjected to near constant "toot-tooting" for that period of time.

Yamaha and Honda join 12 car makers in testing anti-collision technology {Autoblog}

Feb 26th 2008 7:34PM Sadly, it's really about people/drivers taking responsibility for their skills (or lack thereof). Each of the devices simply removes another bit of responsibility and we'll have more drivers blindly driving off cliffs because the gps told them to.

Of course, if you can't be trusted but you still get to drive anyway...you'll only hurt others...so as a defensive measure, I think these are good because they should lessen the chances of me being hurt by a stupid person.

But still doesn't address the fact that there are people who shouldn't drive, or drive vehicles they shouldn't be trusted with, who are out there...and continue to be allowed to do so. (like 80yr olds driving RVs the size of rock-tour busses with NO ADDITIONAL LICENSING REQUIREMENTS).

Hamster admits things not alright 18 months after crash {Autoblog}

Feb 25th 2008 3:18PM Having watched many, many, maaaany hours of that show...I could tell that Richard was very different in the episodes post-accident. He seems quite angry now (mean at times), and sometimes appears just dazed or only partly there.

I've been in a nasty accident which hospitalized me for weeks...and it took me nearly 2 years to recover fully. I was shocked to see Richard back after only such a short time, from a crash which was likely 2x as violent as mine.

Regardless, everyone has to cope in their own way...and just sitting around may have been just as harmful for *him* as jumping back in with both feet.

Good news is that he's aware of it, and that's the first step in actually dealing-with and managing it.

Porsche vs London: Mayor lashes back, Stuttgart enlists help of web {Autoblog}

Feb 21st 2008 3:09PM I want to go to London less-and-less with every absurd announcement. What would you expect from a city with more security cameras than residents? They can have it. I'll take my tourist dollars elsewhere.

eBay Find of the Day: 2003 Pontiac Aztek Custom Show Car {Autoblog}

Nov 27th 2007 11:07AM Ya know, to someone, she's a very special woman and propz to her for having the guts to do it. To that end, all, let's stay on topic of the vehicle which is...um...."unbelievable".

Not sure what about an Aztec really would drive someone to do something like that?? They got it for free from their Aunt maybe, and figured, what the h*ll...I could buy a used M3 or plow a bunch of money into making what was the ugliest-truck-ever even moreso! (???)

Any other Aztec Tunerz out there to shed light on this?
