And it is amazing. usually people get it right the SECOND time, after they fail the FIRST time. BUT in the case of the TAURUS, I'd love if you can explain to us WHAT THE HELL HEPPENED:
The First Gen Taurus was a HUGE SUCCESS, mostly due to its CLEAN, beautiful EXTERIOR (no wonder it was designed in ITALY). Its interior was inferior. BUT THEN, instead of IMPROVING it in its second Genm, you SCREW UP ROYALLY and you produce a STUPID, UGLY Design that looks like a CATFISH or a FROG!
ANd it is HEAVIER than the first gen, BUT has a smaller trunk! ANalyze THAT!
You (the designers) may be Innocent in this. perhaps you HAD some designs that were at least as good as the first gen. BUT maybe the MORONS that MAnage your company, the auto illit bean counters with BAD TASTE made you do this monstrosity second gen Taurus?

Same here. and their MPG will be STELLAR. I expect a civic to get 50-60 hwy REAL mpg, an Accord 45-55.

I own two Hondas, a 1992 Civic hatch 5-speed and an Accord 1990 coupe 5-speed I still used today. I also own a big-ass BMW 740iL I bought in Oct 05 for peanuts (I preferred to buy it for 10.5k fully fixed, the owner was selling it to me for $9k as it was).
Motorcycle heritage in both Honda and BMW has allowed them to produce superior handling and driving machines.

You can even say the 500 was a little better on the outside than the boring Camry.
Why then did camry sell 450,000 copies and the 500 not even HALF that?

Quality: It is a DISGRACE to be in the middle of the first decade of the 21st century and still have these GAWD AWFUL LOOKING HARD PLASTICS in the 500 and its Freestyle sister.
HArd plastics might be OK in the dismal 70s and 80s, but NOT in the 2000s~!!!!
