Modern Retro: BMW M1 Hommage officially revealed {Autoblog}
Apr 27th 2008 11:12AM I'm sorry but it's just too ugly. There is no sense of design-flow or synergy. BMW thinks it can slap together various design elements from a drop-down list. It looks deformed and silly. It reminds me of one of those 'Ebay Find of the Day' posts on Autoblog where some guy turned his Celica into a Gallardo with a body-kit.
Sneak Peek! BMW M1 Concept at Villa d'Este {Autoblog}
Apr 26th 2008 8:43PM It looks like a stunt car in some horrible '80s show remake or something. Disgusting. I expect a far nicer successor to the M1...not this photoshop on wheels.
First Drive: 2009 Hyundai Sonata - Korean bred, redesigned in America {Autoblog}
Apr 26th 2008 2:55PM Having fun doesn't necessarily mean neck-snapping accelrtaion and corner carving 24/7. It means having a car which feels connected to the driver, excites you while you drive so you look forward to it every time you hope in. That's what my Mazda3 does. And there is no harm in having a car which CAN snap your neck and carve some corners where the kids aren't in it.
First Drive: 2009 Hyundai Sonata - Korean bred, redesigned in America {Autoblog}
Apr 26th 2008 12:59PM "Overall, there's nothing about the Sonata to get the enthusiast's blood boiling, but this segment isn't about that."
It's that attitude which ensures that North America always gets the boring versions of any/all cars. Why can't every segment have fun cars? A lot of people don't look for fun in their cars simply because they have always driven Toyotas and Chevys and when they ACTUALLY try a Mazda...they get hooked.
Apparently you HAVE to pay $30K before you have fun...or so the thinking goes in this market. In Europe, you start having fun in micro-hatches.
Mazda unveils 2009 Mazda6 for North America {Autoblog}
Apr 26th 2008 9:34AM Don't listen to the 'I want...' crowd. All they do is complain and if that product does show up, they never buy it/find new faults with it.
I think the car looks great. I'm a huge Mazda fan and I admit it makes no sense to have a hatch/wagon for the 6 here in North America. The 3 will supply the hatch in it's own lineup, while the 6 will most likely get a Coupe variant and a future Mazdaspeed variant. Thats what this particular segment (Accord, Camry...) demands.
A company this small HAS to be very focused in it's product range. If you want a 5-door, buy a 3-hatch.

Apr 25th 2008 8:11AM Gotta admit...the USDM back end is much nicer than the Euro version. Sincerely hoping Mazda kept the handling in-tact. Otheriwise, looks HOT.
