The new ParentDish: helping raise kids of all ages

eBay Find of the Day: 2006 Ford GT, untitled, signed by Steve Saleen {Autoblog}

Mar 26th 2008 3:57PM Amazing how the "Im insecure I just gotta have something others dont" crowd will bid a $167k car to (likely) over $200. And this is the same car that during development was originally supposed to hit the market for $99,999.

PWNED: Kid tries to pass off CLS 55 AMG as his own, gets caught {Autoblog}

Mar 26th 2008 9:23AM ok, I give up, what are these phrases I see more and more often these days:

"pwned"

"pwnage"

sorry, guess I really am older than I'd like to think

Pics Aplenty: Lamborghini Reventon breaks out of Sant'Agata {Autoblog}

Mar 25th 2008 8:43PM Certain phrases come to this lambo-lovers mind:
"beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
"who cares what it looks like as long as its fast"
etc etc

but come on, if that was a Hyundai, would you be so complimentary????

New York 2008: Iconic GTR arrives in Gotham {Autoblog}

Mar 19th 2008 8:05PM "more than 500 pounds of underbody downforce"

Oh, come on! even my mother wouldn't believe that. Latest Ferrari road car underbodies barely generate enough 'downforce' to offset their inherent body lift. This brick, no matter how clever it is underneath is never going to make 500+

Will we see (or hear) an XM/Sirius merger decision by months end? {Autoblog}

Mar 13th 2008 9:08AM "varied content"

boy, I'll say...

I love this commercial free radio, and wouldn't give it up, but come on, with all the songs ever recorded, how come I keep hearing the same stuff over and over ?????

Microsoft sees in-car advertising coming {Autoblog}

Mar 7th 2008 5:26PM Not in a million years. Yes, I pay for Sirius, but only listen to the non-commercial channels. Even the brief DJ chatter is too much. There's got to be some limits on the bombardment of commercial cr*p we're subjected to.
Do we even want to start talking about the diminishing-returns concept of all this "modern" technology in our cars...?

How to get 100 miles per gallon riding an off-road motorcycle {Autoblog Green}

Feb 26th 2008 8:40AM They sell these here in Quebec renamed as "Nitro"s for about 2 grand. Still has Sachs on the engine casing. Guy told me they bring in engine and frame, and locally source wheels etc to meet import laws or some nonsense.

Irish politician wants country's drivers to move right {Autoblog}

Feb 10th 2008 6:25PM Curious about the claim of increased accidents.
I've driven in north america for 30 years, but have also driven in england a half-dozen times for a period of weeks each time. My experience is that because I'm in a strange environment, I find myself driving much better, more aware of surroundings, etc because of the "wrong side" factor. Just being aware of the consequences of cresting a brow on the wrong side due to lack of attention really focuses your mind... !

Frankie Muniz: self-proclaimed best actor-turned-racer ever {Autoblog}

Feb 2nd 2008 8:58AM Around the paddock and tracks, there's a reason he's called "frankie at the back..."

Video of "naked streets" and how banning stop lights will save gas {Autoblog Green}

Dec 13th 2007 8:30AM Back during the first gas crisis in the 70's, I remember reading a report that said nationwide fuel economy would go up something like 8% just by proper synchronisation of existing traffic lights. With 30-year-smarter computers today, surely that number (or better) is immediately achievable ???
